I am actually happy to see someone embrace the Spring trend without all the florals and Thakoon did just that for his Spring 2012 collection. Another thing he did that the others didn’t was incorporate metallics and denim. We all know how much we love that fabric here.
The looks were heavily embellished, but in a good way. The way that they were placed onto the garments were to flatter and shape the body rather then to adorn the clothing. The fit of the pants were also amazing. I love trousers! And these have the chic fit that trousers possess. While chambray has been popping up both in stores and on runways for a while now, it will be huge for Spring/Summer. This is the perfect season for Chambray, as it’s a looser, less structured fabric than normal denim, so it is ideal for a lighter more ethereal look. Chambray will undoubtedly be trickling down to mass market come spring. It’s such a chic way to wear denim!
Designers like Jason Wu, showed shorts and jackets cut from the cloth.
