Taylor Jacobson in Kasil
Taylor Jacobson was spotted leaving Starbucks in a pair of Kasil jeans. It is cool to see a celebrity showing support for a line that they have a collaboration with. I really like Taylor’s look here. I love that she wore studded Louboutins and that she tucked her jeans into them also. It gives an edge to what would otherwise be a plain outfit. I think she always looks so effortless and put together when I see her.
I will miss Taylor on The Rachel Zoe Project. I was a fan of her style. I always thought she was the best dressed one on the show. She always had an edge to her that the other cast members didn’t and I’m glad she is finding success outside “The Rachel Zoe” brand. You can click here to purchase the many styles from the Taylor Jacobson x Kasil Collection at Tobi.
Nicole Richie in JET
Nicole Richie was spotted running some errands around Los Angeles, California. She was wearing a pair of the new Antique wash by JET jeans. Lucky for Nicole she was able to get her hands on these before they are available. It must be great to be gifted jeans before they are available for the general public. Lucky for us they will be available late August. I’m usually a fan of Nicole’s style. But I think this outfit is great from the ankles up. The flat ankle boots only make her legs look shorter paired with the long top. I like that JET has come out some new styles this coming season. I think they make one of the most comfortable jeans.
I still find it crazy how much Nicole has changed over the years. She has turned herself into an international style icon and a great mother. I think her style, now, suits her better than her Rachel Zoe days to say the truth. She seems more of herself and less pristine. But I did like the Ksubis during those days. Which Nicole do you readers prefer… before, during or after Ms. Zoe?
Fashion Flashback: Wideleg and Bellbottom Jeans
I really think Bridget Bardot from the 1970′s really makes this look worthwhile, she is even wearing platform boots in this shot!
The late 1960′s counterculture movement brought us bells and flared pants that were tighter at the knee and flared from there. The first flares were gentle, and would almost be considered boot cut by modern standards, but the tightness at the knee was a trademark giveaway that set them apart from the rest. By the mid 1970′s the flares reached their widest proportions. Hate them or love them, the bell bottomed pants were again revived and reintroduced as raver or skater pants in the 1990′s. These were styled more like the traditional loose and baggy sailor bell bottoms, much like the “elephant bells” of the mid 1970′s that were exaggerated versions of the naval issue bell. Everything old is new again – just as bellbottoms returned as flared pants in the 90′s as well and now we have the wideleg jeans and actual bellbottoms all over again!
Since fashion cycles, you can count on this trend reemerging and coming around again in a few decades. Save your bellbottom and wideleg pants!
Some of my favorite wideleg and bellbottoms are the J Brand Lovestory, 7 For All Mankind Dojos, Bells and Superflares and Dittos.
7 For all Mankind names jeans after Rachel Zoe
Style guru, Rachel Zoe has always been one to start a trend. Not a fan of skinny jeans, Zoe opts for wide-legged flares and now 7 For All Mankind has hopped on board. The brand’s wideleg look, The Ginger, has now been re-dubbed the Rachel Bell Bottoms, after the famous stylist. In addition, they will only be available for purchase on Piperlime.com, for $169. Hurry! They’re selling fast!
