Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted heading to lunch in Santa Monica, California. The model kept it casual with a pair of the MOTHER Hustler Ankle Fray in Songs of the Cowboys with a sweater and some espadrilles.
I am really happy to see more ladies embrace the cropped flare. I think it is a great style to try out as it is slightly retro, yet there is a freshness to them and they can carry on from season to season with the styling. For the warmer weather, they can be paired with lace-up sandals and a simple tee. Then for the colder months, a chunky sweater and black ankle boots. It is definitely a versatile style, in my opinion. How would you style a cropped flare? You can click here to purchase these jeans from SHOPBOP.
For their new ‘Crash and Burn’ story of their Spring 2016 collection, MOTHER has taken the staple black and gave it some ease. The denim was washed out and distressed to give a lived in feel and the sweaters have the same easiness to them as the attitudes of a beach town. But keeping to the MOTHER identity, they are still chic pieces nonetheless.
These were some of my favorite pieces to see at the preview because of their timeless appeal. The hand wasn’t too heavy on them, yet they stood out and had a fresh quality to them that their fans will just love. What are your thoughts of these new additions to MOTHER’s line? Kristen Stewart was spotted making her rounds at the Sundance Film Festival at Park City, Utah. The actress kept warm by layering her MOTHER Looker Fray in Guilty As Sin over Leggings and socks. She paired the jeans with a sweater and jacket to help fight the chill from the snow.
I really like the fit of this look here and I also like that Kristen worked her distressed jeans into a winter look that is appropriate for the occasion. We have seen distressed jeans in the winter before, but I haven’t seen them layered over leggings in quite some time. It is a look that I can see pick up and even for the guys, which I can see being layered over thermal pairs. What do you think of the idea of layering your distressed jeans over leggings? For my ‘Weekend Look’ I decided to go for the MOTHER Stunner Ankle Fray in Graffiti Girl. I have been looking at these quite a bit lately and just love the details of them. Not just because of the wash, but the smaller details of them, like the button-fly and high rise. Just those little details help lend a new feel to a relaxed look for a day out, like this one here.
When I was thinking of the look, a band tee was the first thing that came to mind to pair with them. This Metallica shirt is a great piece to pair with as you can wear it tucked in or over if the jeans are fitted or size up on the jeans for a slouchy low slung style and still keeps the cool fluid vibe. Then to keep that vibe going, I chose the Balanciaga boots. These boots have become timeless just like a pair of Dr. Martens. They enhance the essence of a look rather than take away. Then to finish the look off, I wanted to keep the accessories in the same spirit with a Saint Laurent bag and 3.1 Phillip Lim sunglasses. Which look would you go for, fitted or slouchy?
