Levi’s Unveils ‘Made Here’ Concept in Newbury Street in Boston
Levi’s recently unveiled their new “Made Here” concept collection in Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The “Made Here” collection consists of hand-made goods, crafts and apparel, that are all made in the USA by emerging artists. This collection isn’t just limited to Levi’s either. They have non-Levi’s pieces that are made with the same techniques that Levi Strauss himself used. So Levi’s is still in the soul of the pieces.
Some of the pieces in the collection includes belts by Essex Connecticut based artist Austin Jeffers, Marlin Spike necklaces by self-taught artist Tim Whitten, Farm Tactic Bags, and scarves by Brooklyn based artists Kalen and Astrid. They also have leather jackets by Irving and Jack Schott, their family company introduced the first motorcycle jacket.
This concept isn’t just limited to just Boston. A “Hand Made” shop in New York City’s Meatpacking District that will offer custom tailoring all by hand. So each pieces ordered must feel special when it is received. You can checkout images of the concept below.

Denim Review: Levi’s Made & Crafted White Skinny Jeans
This weeks review is on a pair of Levi’s Made & Crafted white skinny jeans. As you know white is always a huge colour for Spring and Summer so I was really excited to review these for Levi’s.
The one thing that I love the most about these jeans is they are not see through. So often I will try a pair of white jeans and I can’t wear them because they are just too see through and I don’t feel confident going out like that. It’s wonderful that these are a much thicker denim so it hides everything. You can barely see the pocket bags at the front and it’s pretty safe to wear any colour underwear you wish with these jeans.
As far as the fit goes, these are very skinny, they feel much skinnier than the classic skinny Levi’s jeans. The Made & Crafted collection has a different feel to the denim and they feel a better quality. They are much more durable and like I said, they are super skinny which is nice since I love my jeans to fit like second skin. Since I am so used to wearing jeggings though, they are a bit more restricting when you walk and sit but that’s because of the thicker denim.
There isn’t much to say about the wash since it’s white but it is a pure bright white, it’s not an off white or more of a cream tone, it’s one of the brighter whites that is the perfect shade. I can see these reflecting the sunlight and heat perfectly.
The back pockets are not the most flattering on myself though, I find them to not be positioned as perfect as they could be for my body type but those of you who read my reviews will know how picky I am with back pocket positioning. It’s the first thing I look for in a jean. I’m not saying they are the worst at all, they fit quite well, just not as well as other brands I have tried, but we all have different body shapes so what works for me might not work for someone else. They do run pretty true to size as well.

Nicole Richie in Levi’s Jeans
Over the weekend, Nicole Richie spent some quality time with her adorable family. Nicole and Joel took their kids shopping at Tom’s Toys in Beverly Hills. I can’t believe how big the kids are getting, and how much they look like both Nicole and Joel. They’re too cute!
Nicole rocked her usual bohemian vibe, by wearing a simple tank and a pair of light wash flare jeans. Nicole’s jeans are by Levi’s. While I usually like Nicole’s style, I’m not crazy about this outfit. I think the jeans are too long and I don’t like the wash. There are definitely more flattering options out there! You can buy Levi’s jeans at Levi’s.com.
George Clooney in Levi’s
It looks like George Clooney is still on set filming his latest movie, The Ides of March. George took a break from filming to throw a ball around with the other crew members. The film, which George is directing, also stars Evan Rachel Wood and Ryan Gosslin.
George broke out the same pair of Levi’s that he was seen in a couple of weeks ago. As a brand, Levi’s has been making a lot of changes, especially to protect the environment. You can read about their newest line which uses less water, here. You can also purchase Levi’s jeans here.
