Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were snapped while out shopping in SoHo. The couple were in New York City to attend the Met Ball. I’m glad to see Kim wearing something a bit more casual than the dresses we’ve been seeing her out in lately.

It seems like it’s been a while since we’ve seen a Kardashian in Bleulab! Kim wore a pair of Bleulab Detour Leggings in Chalk with a black peplum blouse and silver heels.

Kim has been toning her style down a bit (Kanye’s influence?) but I think this is a good mix of her old style without being too over the top. I definitely think the jeans keep all of the dressier pieces a bit more relaxed.

Although Kim was in a little black dress and heels, Kanye wore his denim Balmain shirt with a pair of black trousers and sneakers. Since Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have started dating, I’ve noticed a change in Kim’s style.  She seems to have toned things down a bit and is mixing in tougher pieces of clothing, like her J Brand leather pants and sneakers.

While out in Studio City, she wore a pair of Balmain jeans with a white peplum top and heels. I wonder if Kanye had any influence on Kim wearing Balmain, since he’s such a big fan of the brand and is spotted out in it frequently. You can join the discussion of Balmain in the forums here.

The Kardashians were seen out and about in New York City after having lunch together and doing some shopping. Later in the day, the family were seen at the opening of RYU in the Meatpacking district. Kim’s rumored boyfriend, Kayne West, also attended the opening and the two were spotted holding hands!

For their shopping trip, Khloe wore a pair of Current/Elliott jeans with a striped tee and heels. We’ve seen Khloe out in Rag & Bone quite a lot lately, it’s nice to see her wearing a pair of Current/Elliott’s. Buy Current/Elliott online at Singer22.com.

Kanye West was caught leaving his hotel in New York. He wore his favorite leather pants as he made his way to his ride with his laptop. I still cannot figure out what brand these pants are. Can any of you readers help out? Do you guys by chance know who they are by?

I think if you are a guy, this is the way to go when you wear leather pants. Simple is key. Don’t over do it with the prints. Just a great shirt, hoodie and sweater is all you need. Seeing this photo just makes me want a pair of leather pants even more. There are still quite a few styles that I cannot get over.

Kanye West was caught leaving Bar Pitti Resturant in New York. He wore a pair of army green Balmain Homme motorcycle jeans. It’s been a while since we have spotted motorcycle jeans. I still think they are a great style, being that they were probably the only new styles introduced in recent years.

At first I thought these were a pair from the women’s line, going by the ankle-zipper, but noticed that the fly folds over to the left so they are from the men’s line. It’s cool to see that many brands are starting to introduce ankle-zippers into men’s styles now. I have always thought they add some more versatility to jeans. You never know when you need a slit.

Kanye West was caught at the Wall St. Protest in New York City earlier this week with Russell Simmons. He wore his Balmain jeans with a white tee and plaid shirt by Givenchy. We haven’t seen him in these in a while. He seemed to be favoring his amazing light washed pairs by Levi’s for a bit.

I would like to see Kanye rock his leather pants again. We haven’t seen him in those for a while either. I thought he wore them really well. I think you can wear any trend by just mixing in some basics and keeping the palette muted. A guy wearing leather pants is already a bold statement, so simple is probably the biggest key note.

Women, for many years, have worn men’s clothing. So is it time for the men to start raiding the section of the other sex? More frequently I have been reading and noticing more men being less shy of wearing women’s clothes. For example Kanye West, he famously wore a Celine shirt from the Spring 2011 collection. Before that he wore a shirt from Phillip Lim’s women’s collection to attend his show. Then there is DJ Cassidy who recently opened up about being fond over the women’s accessories section at Intermix. As the saying goes “If the shoe fits, wear it.” So how many of you guys are going to stop limiting yourselves to what you like?

Kanye West recently performed at the 2011 Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Texas earlier this month. Being Kanye, his stage outfit definitely stood out. He wore a red leather jacket with some red Balmain jeans and some red sneakers. Most likely the whole look is Balmain minus the shoes.
