Jean Paul Gaultier
Nicole Richie in JET Jeans
Nicole Richie was spotted arriving in Paris, France for Fashion Week. I wonder what shows she will be attending. I know that she already made an appearance at Gaultier. She wore a pair of her JET jeans in black for the flight which she paired with a leopard coat. JET has come out with some new great styles such as the flares and the new leather coated jeans. I wonder if Nicole will be spotted in those anytime soon?
Leopard seems to be Nicole’s choice for when she travels to Europe. She was spotted wearing this jacket a couple times as well when she was caught arriving in England. Click here to purchase these jeans at Singer22 for $154.
Ellen Pompeo in Denim Jumpsuit
Ellen Pompeo was seen leaving the John Freida salon in LA wearing quite an interesting outfit! She wore a zip-up denim jumpsuit and high heels. Overalls and Coveralls/Jumpsuits have been popping up on runaways like G-Star Raw and Jean Paul Gaultier. Even celebrities like Katie Holmes and Pink have worn the trend. What do you think, do you like Ellen’s look? Personally, I think she looks like she’s wearing a mechanic’s coveralls.
If you’re interested in trying this trend, check out options from Rag & Bone, Current/Elliott, PRPS and Diesel.
Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011
The man of lingerie, Jean Paul Gaultier, just sent his Spring 2011 collection down the Paris runways. You can always expect this man to make a statement in every show he puts forth and for this season it was opening it with Beth Ditto.
Each look of the collection had the classic Jean Paul Gaultier lingerie aesthetic with a Joan Jett inspiration. It looks like punk is making a comeback. Balmain also showed a collection that was inspired by punk icons, Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen. Gaultier showed few denim looks this season that probably only one of his wearers can pull off. Yes, Gwen Stefani. He had the amazing fabric in the form of jackets, boleros, skirts and jeans that were all in a slim silhouette. Also in denim was the mechanics jumpsuit shown above. The collection also included leather vests, jackets, lace jeans, silk dresses, power suits, and some stripes. You can check out some of the looks below.
Brooks Brother’s x Levi’s Collaborate
It seems like everyone is collaborating with Levi’s recently. From big names such as Jean Paul Gaultier, House of Holland to more affordable lines like Opening Ceremony and Obey. This time the collaboration is with another classic brand, Brooks Brothers. These iconic brands have been a staple by most for over a century. Brooks Brothers Chief in Merchandising, Lou Amendola, has said it herself “For generations, nothing has conveyed the image of iconic American style more than a pair of Levi’s jeans worn with a Brooks Brothers button-down shirt…” So it is only natural that they came together to come up with these great denim pieces.
The jeans will come in three fits. The ever classic 501, 505, which is the zip-fly version of the 501, and what I think is one of the new iconic fits 514, which is a slim straight fit. You can never go wrong with those fits. All of these jeans will be manufactured in Los Angeles and retailing for $148. They are now available nationwide at Brooks Brothers stores and online at the BrooksBrothers website.
Levi’s x Jean Paul Gaultier
Levi’s has been bringing new life to their classic styles with designer collaborations and the most recent comes from the opulent Jean Paul Gaultier. Gaultier’s influence is noted on the classic styles in the cone shaped bust. This design appears on everything from jackets and overalls to pants. The collection is available now and starts at $173 and can be purchased here.
Elle Magazine’s Guide for Denim Overalls
Denim Overalls… It used to be the clothing for just farmers… But not anymore! Starting off the trend on the runways was Ralph Lauren and Jean Paul Gaultier with his collaboration with Levi’s. Following behind a couple of seasons after many denim brands such as Citizens of Humanity and G-Star have come out with their versions. The key to wearing overalls is to keep it relaxed. Choose lighter washes and flat shoes. Also choose a flattering fit, more fitted rather than second-skin or baggy.
