After going skin-tight for the last Fall/Winter season, Isabel Marant decided to go the opposite route and made things oversized and slouchy for 2014. Knits were in abundance, corduroy was sprinkled throughout, and there were staples like leather, this time mixed with nylon.
This season Isabel also brought back outerwear with strong shoulders, similar to what she did a few years back. Some were rounded and others tailored to add power to the looks. For the shoes, Isabel loves her slouchy suede styles. This season they were wrapped, lined and even in fur, these are sure to be popular among her many followers. I love Ali’s outfit here, I think all of the pieces work really well together. I’m a big fan of Marant’s prints too, as they are always so complex and detailed. It seems as though Ali likes them too, as we’ve seen her in a printed skirt from the brand before. You can buy Etoile Isabel Marant online from Barney’s here.

Ever since Isabel Marant released the Soan leather trousers a few years back, I could not stop thinking about them. Then when I heard that her collaboration with H&M was going to be a retrospective of her popular pieces, I was hoping that those pants would make an appearance. Just my luck, she did reinterpret them and they are in coated denim. So to coincide with the launch today, I decided to style them in a way that I have been envisioning them for a while.
Ever since I saw them, I thought of them being worn in sort of an underground East London/Swedish punk vibe. With great detail and a cropped semi slouchy fit, I think they embody that sort of style very well. I chose to pair them with an olive t shirt by R13, my favorite Balenciaga boots, an Hermes cuff and a Rick Owens beanie. This is something I would even wear myself, so I would say that this is another look for both the ladies and men. What do you think of this outfit?
January Jones was snapped while posing for photographers at the launch party of Isabel Marant for H&M. She wore a pair of the tie dye skinny jeans and a matching lace blouse, both from the new collection.
One thing that I love about Isabel Marant’s pieces is the attention to detail, like the seaming on the knees, which adds a subtle moto-style effect. Click here to view the look books from the Men’s and Women’s collections. Are you planning on buying anything from this collaboration?
