Trend Alert: Panel Denim
A trend that the celebs seem to love is the Panel Trend. I remember the first time seeing this look was on Lily Allen. She was wearing a pair of gray Superfine Legging jeans with black jersey stretch panels placed on the inseam. Who knew she would have been the front runner of this trend? Now many brands have followed behind with their own versions.
This trend, I believe, is a more polished take on the patchwork and repaired trend. But instead of having dispersed patches all over the jeans, these panels are placed to add a little more detail and some are even placed to give an illusion. What is the illusion? Slimmer legs! Everyone wants those. There are tons of styles, but check out the few styles below from Cheap Monday, Erin Wasson x RVCA, 7 For All Mankind, Victoria Beckham Denim, Helmut Lang, and of course Superfine. Kim Kardashian in O*T*R
Kim Kardashian was spotted outside E! Studios after doing an interview on Chelsea Lately. She was wearing a pair of O*T*R Runaround jeans in Rainy Day. At first I thought the leggings were by Helmut Lang due to the paneling style. But thank you to Kim’s stylist, Monica Rose, for confirming who they are by.
Are you guys excited for the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians this weekend? From the previews it looks quite dramatic. It also seems like Kim will be making more appearances in this. I’ve noticed that she wasn’t really in it that much in the past. Also speaking of Chelsea Handler… Are you excited to see her host the VMAs this year? LOOK BOOK: Helmut Lang Resort 2010
Here is the Helmut Lang Resort 2010 Collection. In the line you can expect to see the clean silhouettes and comfort always associated with the brand. The line also features skin tight denim, a flared pair, and the mixture of different fabrics for their jackets. They really made the shapes stand out in this line by leaving the color palette pretty mute. Have any of you readers tried out their denim yet? You can check out the collection yourself below.
Denim Review: Gap Biker Denim Jacket
Originally, I was not a huge fan of denim jackets, but once I started seeing celebrities in motorcycle jackets I knew I wanted one. I loved this version from Current/Elliot but it was sold out. I saw Gap‘s Biker Denim Jacket on celebrities like Jessica Alba and Jamie King and thought it looked like a great alternative. When I went to try it on (and saw the price, under $50!) I fell in love with it!
