Natasha Poly & Sasha Pivovarova in Denim in Vogue Paris
Check out this Paris Vogue editorial featuring Natasha Poly and Sasha Pivovarova styled by editor Emmanuelle Alt. When Emmanuelle Alt styles a shoot, you can count on it to be amazing. Whether it be her styling couture or a shoot like this where the models look relaxed.
There is a ton of denim featured in this shoot. There is a pair of magenta One Teaspoon shorts, a couple of pairs of Hudsons (purple and white), a few Marant pieces (jackets, shirts, cords, and sweaters), G-star, DSquared2 and the brand that seems to be the star of the shoot, Plein Sud. I think the styling is great. The pairing of the slouch jeans with the House of Harlow moccasins is just great. Also the Plein Sud leather pants above are just amazing. The lace detail is great. Dsquared² Men’s Spring 2012
The new Dsquared² men’s collection walked earlier this week. I have to say that this is probably my least favorite collection that they have sent out. It looks very ’80s with the color combination mixed with the styling of some of the looks. Individually I think each piece is great.
I like the denim leather jacket (the one without the hoodie). My favorite look out of the whole collection would have to be the one above. I think the jacket is cool, the sweater is perfect and the drop-crotch of the jeans even work for me here. I also like the look of the orange trousers with the purple belt. I’m usually not a fan of orange. I actually think the color is pretty gross, but somehow I really like them here. Weird how styling and fit can change a thought that I never would have thought would ever happen. You can check out a few of the looks below.
Dsquared² Fall/Winter 2011
First I have to say that Arizona Muse (look one) is having an amazing season. She opened this show, along with a few others and she had her own issue of Dazed and Confused Magazine, which she also graces four different covers for. This is their first time ever dedicating one issue to one model. Not many can say they have an issue just for them, but there are those few.
The new Dsquared² collection has just walked in Milan and just like the men’s collection, the frontier was the inspiration. All the looks came down with layers of clothing and hats. Denim was also not a shortage either this season with the women. They had waistcoats, jackets, a shirt and of course jeans. I love that they also came out with the skinny leather pants for the women (shown above). That was my favorite piece from the men’s. You can check out the collection below.

Dsquared² Men’s Fall 2011
Dsquared² never disappoints me with their shows. They find inspiration from places that no other designers find, such as hockey, camp, Native Americans, and now the frontier. Yet they are still able to keep their looks modern and cool. I saw the game Oregon Trail right away from the first picture of this collection.
Dsquared² really is the highlight of Men’s Fashion Week for me. I love the washes that they come up with and the detail that they put into their jeans. The whiskering on some of the jeans this season were made with silver paint. My favorite would not have to be one of the great denim pieces, it would have to be the leather pants above. I love the zipper detail on them. These are a staple in their collection that has definitely been interpreted in a new fresh way each time. After seeing this collection, I’m interested in seeing what will come about in the women’s collection. You can checkout the collection below.
Vanessa Paradis in Denim for Spanish Vogue October 2010
Vanessa Paradis did a spread for Spanish Vogue for the October 2010 issue. She was sporting tons of denim for the shoot. There were jeans by Levi’s, Balmain, DSquared2, Armani, and more. There was also tons of Chanel, appropriately, which is probably a must since she is one of the muses for Karl Lagerfeld.
If you don’t know who Vanessa is, she is a French actress and singer (her song “l’incendie” is a great one to listen to) as well as Karl Lagerfeld’s muse like stated above. She is also the girlfriend of Johnny Depp. You can click on the images below to see the spread and click here to purchase the Balmain and DSquared2 jeans at LUISAVIAROMA.
