Here is a look at the first ever Textile Elizabeth and James look book. For their Fall/Winter ’11 collection, the inspiration came from the California desert, namely a 1969 journey to Joshua Tree, California. Though with a vintage inspiration, the fits are still of this decade.
Featured in this collection are shirts, skirts, sweaters, denim and some outerwear. They have their popular Jimi flare in a black wash (believe it or not, this is their first season to include black denim) and a patch style. They also have have the Debbie jeans in a faded black with patches all over.
My favorite pieces from this collection would have to be the red long johns, the Dakota sweater, and the Crosby Jeans (shown above with the Dakota sweater). I fell for these jeans back when I saw them on Mary-Kate at their launch party in New York. I just love the carpenter style, plus they have ankle-zippers. You can never go wrong with that. You can check out their full look book below.
Another great sighting of Mary-Kate Olsen in her Custom-Made Jeans By Maxfields LA. I just love these jeans. I cannot get enough of them. They are just perfect and they fit her perfect. She was spotted at LAX arriving back in Los Angeles, California with sister Ashley. I love that she paired them with the Prada stole. The shade of blue is amazing and goes well with the faded black of the jeans. This stole has definitely become the “McQueen scarf” of this season.
Mary-Kate and Ashley recently teamed up with social commerce site, BeachMint, to launch StyleMint. The site will debut with an exclusive t-shirt line and give members the experience of a personal stylist. By answering a set of questions, members can create a personal profile that will allow StyleMint to know your style personally. Each member will receive choices of clothing that is tailored to each member’s personal style, along with trend reports and videos to show each how to wear and pair pieces. StyleMint will launch in the Summer, but you can click here to sign-up now.
I attended the intimate get together for Textile Elizabeth and James at the Sunset Ballroom in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Many celebrities came out to support Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Many also came out rocking Textile.
Mary-Kate wore the Bianca Shirt Jacket Which she paired with a bow tie and leather pants. Ashley wore my favorite fit since its inception, the Iggy jeans, and a sweater from the Fall ’11 collection. Other celebs such as Nicole Richie, Emma Roberts, Dakota Fanning and more attended. They wore the Billy jeans, the Sid Jacket, and the Morrison jeans, respectively. Guests were served mini dishes as they mingled amongst each other. They also had a live performer who did great covers of many songs. You can check out pictures from the event below.
Mary-Kate Olsen shields her face from the paparazzi after landing in LAX. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley have been keeping busy with appearances and their fashion lines. The sisters were recently nominated for a CFDA Swarovski Award for their women’s wear designs, alongside Joseph Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung.
I’m starting to wonder if these Custom-Made jeans by Maxfields LA are the only pair that Mary-Kate owns? She wore them just last week for an appearance with her sister. But I guess if you have jeans that are custom made for you, they must fit perfectly. Plus, I think they’re a lot cuter than some of the fashion choices she makes!
