To answer Renae- I bought some 7FAM at Gilt last month and am very happy with them. I think the only concern with private sales is that sometimes they are selling “straight to discount” washes. These are meant directly for Off Saks, Nordstrom Rack, etc and use lower quality. Straight to discount 7FAM is also typically made in Mexico, not the US.

Hidden hills have a higher rise of about 9″ so they are more flattering on the curvy ladies or ladies who love the higher rise. I think the Hollywood Hills have a rise of around 8″ ish so they are nice too If you like skinnys I definitely recommend Blue Heights skinnys by Paige too, I own so many of those and live in them, as well as the skyline if you want a bit of a higher rise. J Brand 912 skinnys are also really flattering Gwenevere skinnys by 7FAM are also my favourite I’m always around if you want to email me or anything at editor@denimblog.com

Thanks Lorna! You are always sooooo helpful with your suggestions I am going to try the Paige Laurel Canyon jeans. Do you know anything about Paige Hidden Hills or Hollywood Hills? I also will be trying the 7FAM and J Brand jeans. I am always looking for a flattering new look. I do prefer bootcut, I will also wear skinnys from time-to-time. I have Big Star skinny jeans in both Maddie and Casey K.

So you like the medium/low rise bootcuts? Have you tried J Brand? The lower rise 7″ bootcut J Brands are really flattering, Paige Premium Laurel Canyon is really nice too and always flattering. 7 For All Mankind, if you buy a lower rise pair are very flattering, I love those. I hope you find something you like soon

Normally I don’t go with any rise lower than 7″… I stay in the 7-8.5″ range with my jeans. I normally wear Big Star Vintage (Liv, Sophie, and Miki), True Religion (Joey), MEK, Rock Revival, Big Star (Maddie and Casey K), and BKE (Sabrina and Culture).

I buy from them all the time, it really depends what brand you buy, I know which brands and cuts suit me so I am always happy with my purchase. I don’t think a 10-10.5 rise would look good on anyone though. It depends on your body shape. Which ones have you been buying?

I’ve actually been somewhat disappointed with the Private Sales I’ve been to so far :/ I have not been pleased with the rises/designs that have been offered. Has anyone here ever bought from one? Were you satisfied when the product arrived?

And what on earth would a 10-10.5 rise look like on someone anyways??

Here’s hoping I’ll start having better luck with them …
