So we all know and love eBay for our designer jeans - but do you know how to shop eBay safely and be an awesome buyer at the same time? A few tips you should know.
#1 - Make sure what you are buying is the real thing! There are a ton of guides on HonestForum that teach you how to recognize the real stuff from those ugly fake jeans. Do your research!
#2 - Alternatively - shop from our list of authentic sellers- do you know where it is? Look to the right hand side of the blog, at the very top of the blogroll - we’ve started a list of sellers who are known to sell only authentic jeans and we are very selective about those we put on this list. Go to the blogroll and if you click on these links, they will take you directly to that seller’s items on eBay! It looks like this:

#3 - Always pay with PayPal using a credit card. This gives you two safety measures - first of all you can file a dispute with PayPal if you don’t receive your item or it turns out to be a fake, and secondly - if you pay with a credit card, you can dispute the charge.

#4 - Leave the seller honest feedback. Since eBay’s recent fee increase, its more important than ever to Sellers to get positive feedback, so if you love your jeans, give the seller praise and a full five-star rating (those are important because eBay gives sellers with good detailed seller ratings a discount on fees!) And if you don’t love your jeans - give the seller a chance to refund you or work something out before leaving nasty feedback (unless, of course, they are obvious fakes!)

Now get out there and have fun shopping!
Celebs in Denim: Christina Ricci in J Brand
Published by May 6th, 2008 in J brand jeans | Celebs and Sales for J Brand Jeans and Louis Vuitton. 0 Comments
On May 1st in London, actress Christina Ricci wore a pair of J Brand “The Doll” jeans in Indigo while promoting her film Speed Racer at Radio One. Love these skinny but wide bottom jeans styles J Brand keeps coming up with! And bestill my beating heart…love the Louis Vuitton Denim Neo Cabby she is carrying as well.
How to Crystallize Your Jeans
What you’ll need:
1) Rhinestones (hotfix or flatbacks)
2) Jeans
3) Bent nose tweezers (for picking up and placing crystals with accuracy)
4) Rhinestone glue (highly recommended even if you’re using hotfix. Gem-tac is the best in my opinion.)
5) Hotfix applicator wand (highly recommended even if you’re using flatbacks; I recommend that you use a tip size that is 2-3ss smaller than the crystals that you’ll be using for this technique.)

Initial setup:
1) Heat up the applicator wand for 5 minutes (careful, it’ll be hot!)
2) Squeeze some glue onto a piece of scratch paper or cardboard.
Crystallizing steps:
1) Pick up a crystal by carefully pinching its sides with the bent nose tweezers.

Pictured is the light rose 16ss crystal
2) While holding the crystals with the tweezers, carefully dab it in the glue just enough so that there’s a thin, even layer of glue on the back side of the crystal.

3) Once dipped in the glue, position the crystal onto the jeans.

4) While still holding the crystal in place with the tweezers, apply the (now hot) applicator wand’s tip vertically onto the crystal and press down, holding for 15 seconds, and then vertically lift the applicator so that the crystal does not become displaced (note: I still recommend doing this with flatbacks/non-heat activated crystals because the heat from the applicator will facilitate the drying/curing of the glue.)

5) Repeat the above steps for each crystal until you’ve finished your piece.

Above: Picture of crystallized 7 for All Mankind Pink Signature Bootcuts using rose crystals (10ss inner row and 8ss outer row)
Tips:
1) If you find yourself misplacing the crystals, don’t sweat it! Just place the hot applicator wand onto the crystal, hold it for 3-5 seconds so that the glue melts a bit, and then either drag the crystal with the wand to the right place or drag the crystal off the area in a way that debonds it.
2) If you’ve found yourself completely abhorred by your masterpiece, you can debond all of the crystals by using an adhesive remover. The one I use is made for removing glue and chewing gum, which I found at Ralph’s in the detergent aisle. Cost me $3. (CAVEAT: Many of these are alcohol based, so be sure that the solution has completely evaporated from the jeans before applying heat again.)
3) If you’re short on time, instead of holding the applicator wand on the crystal for 15 seconds, hold it just for 5 seconds. Then, once you are completely done crystallizing, take out your hot iron and vertically place it on the entire design for 10-15 seconds. DO NOT leave the iron on the fabric for more than 15 seconds, as it may burn the jeans! Repeat this as necessary until you find all of the crystals securely bound to the jeans.
4) If you’re opting to use only hotfix crystals without the additional gem-tac glue, I suggest that you use crystals that are no bigger than 10ss, as the bigger ones tend to easily fall off (more surface area to “catch” onto other things and in effect dislodge).

Victoria Beckham sues denim company Rock & Republic
Published by May 5th, 2008 in Rock & Republic | Rock and Republic Sales and Celebrities. 2 Comments
From today’s New York Daily!
Victoria Beckham is said to be suing the Los Angeles-based fashion label that once made her line of super-expensive jeans.
The erstwhile Posh Spice claims that haute denim brand Rock & Republic owes her as much as $100 million following her split with the company, according to reports published Sunday in Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.
The pricey pants - which bore a distinctive crown emblem on the back pockets and sold for around $300 a pop - hit stores in 2004, and Beckham’s creative relationship with the company at first seemed rosy. “She not only understands fashion and trends but has been a trend-setter and fashion icon for years,” Rock & Republic designer and owner Michael Ball gushed at the time.
But the partnership soon soured, reportedly because the usually publicity-hungry Posh wasn’t devoting enough of her ample camera time to plugging the line. Beckham and the label officially parted ways in 2006, and rumors of an impending suit began surfacing around that time.
Rock & Republic has not yet been served with the claim, the Daily Mail reported, but in the suit, Beckham allegedly states she is owed the payout because the jeans were more profitable than previously thought.
But that’s not the end of Beckham’s denim woes. News of the lawsuit comes on the heels of blogosphere buzz that her current jeans venture, dVb denim, is being dropped by retailers - including swanky L.A. boutiques Kitson and Fred Segal - because of low sales.
Kitson owner Fraser Ross denied he was ditching the line, but told People magazine it is not performing up to expectation - because of Beckham.
“She’s not supporting the line,” Ross said. “It’s not good for her brand and not good for her endorsements. In a tough economy, you need to be in partnership with the people that are selling your line to your fans. That’s the bottom line.”
Or maybe it’s that the jeans, which retail for $250 and above, don’t fit in with the average Spice Girls fan’s bottom line?
Posh, it might be time to go discount.
Celebs in Denim: Heidi Montag in Heidiwood

Does anyone else just hate media-whores Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of the Hills? UGH. Anyway, here’s Heidi in her Heidiwood jeans for Anchor blue.
Does anyone else think the winged design on Heidi’s jeans look like a bad rip-off of the Rock & Republic Chroma pocket design?!
