Here is Jessica Simpson on the new cover of Elle, wearing Lucky Brand Jeans. According to Jezebel.com, there was quite a bit of photoshopping in Jessica’s cover to make her appear more whittled in the waist. We all know that photoshopping is done to celebs for magazines, but we had to stop and think about this comment posted by another blogger, Anna, regarding a similar situation with the Faith Hill photoshoot for Redbook:
In a world where lying, deception, and the fudging of facts has become endemic in everything, all the way up to the highest levels of government, this is yet another example of a fraud being perpetrated on the public… and the public, for the most part, is not yet in on the joke. Magazine-retouching may not be a lie on par with, you know, “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction,” but… when girls as young as eight are going on the South Beach Diet, teenagers are getting breast implants as graduation gifts, professional women are almost required to fetishize handbags, and everyone is spending way too much godd@mn time figuring out how to pose in a way that will look as good as that friend with the really popular MySpace profile, it’s f*cking wrong. “
Wow. Well when you put it like that… What do our readers think about skinnie minnies like Jessica Simpson being photoshopped to appear even smaller?

Kim Kardashian poses for Radar Magazine’s homage to the classic (and notorious) 1980 Calvin Klein ad campaign starring a 15-year old Brooke Shields. In this photoshoot, Kim wears some of our favorite denim lines.
Said Kim: “If Paris Hilton thinks my butt looks gross I really don’t care. At least I have a butt.”
I’ll leave any possibly snarky comments about Kim to our readers. I mean, you go up against Brooke Shields, face of early Calvin Klein and fashion icon, and you better be ready to face a little criticism. Wonder what Brooke Shields thinks about Kim’s photoshoot!

Black is back for fall! Lots of celebs are being spotted lately in their black skinnies. Above, Britney Spears in a pair of Paige Premium Denim Blue Heights Skinnies in Black and Katie Holmes in a pair of J Brand 914 Jeans in Black. Also, Fergie, Michelle Trachtenberg and Lindsay Lohan were spotted in skinnies from Genetic Denim, and Demi Lovato was also spotted in black skinnies recently! Will you be wearing this trend?
People who love Diesel jeans know that they were one of the original premium denim brands, with a long history of fabulous jeans. Personally, I jumped on the bandwagon late. I first became a fan of designer denim when 7 for All Mankind and Rock & Republic were the #1 jeans to be seen in several years ago.
Then one day, as I was killing time in the mall, waiting for a friend, I stopped in the Diesel boutique and tried on a pair. Oh. My. God. Where had Diesel been all my life? It has been around since I was in diapers practically, but perhaps I had never noticed it because the pockets weren’t sparkling with swarovski and the logo didn’t scream at you. They were FABULOUS, and fit like a dream. I loved the comfort of them and the understated style – so me. I am so not the swarovski crystals type anyway! Blech!
Today, while browsing their website, I spotted the new Diesel Ybo Wide Leg. I think I’m in love! I am so heading straight to the Diesel store tomorrow morning to try on a pair! But one question – why is the 008AA darker wash $70 cheaper than the 008RI lighter wash?
Has anyone tried them yet? Post your comments if so!
