In the decade of the 50′s two brothers from Valencia, Spain, started a clothing business. LOIS jeans began in Spain at the beginning of the 60′s when three young men, ”the Saez Merino brothers”, opened a cloth mill. They produced denim only to cater working class population. With two pianists behind a semitransparent screen providing the live soundtrack for G-Star‘s Fall show at the Hammerstein Ballroom, models in dropped-crotch jeans and zipper-covered tops marched their way down, off, and around the runway. The look was tough and a little postapocalyptic. Collars were oversize and upturned, as if to protect these night owls from something sinister around the bend; coats, meanwhile, seemed ready to double as parachutes or floatation devices. Maybe we’re reading too much into it, but there did seem to be less of the usual exuberance we’ve come to expect from a G-Star show. The appearance of Benicio Del Toro, who did a reading of Joy Division’s “Candidate” at the show’s close, was something of a head-scratcher, but an impressive celebrity wild card nonetheless.”
What do you think of G-Star’s collection and the new dropped-crotch styles?
Beyonce was spotted at the 58th NBA basketball game with Jay Z wearing a pair of Rock & Republic hot pant shorts! It looks like they were originally jeans and she has cut them up into shorts. She looks so hot in them. Also shes pictured with Eva Longoria who is wearing a pair of J Brand jeans.
