Emmy began her career as an opera singer, passing an audition at the Metropolitan Opera when she was only 7. Emmy has more recently been in Showtime’s new series Shameless with some nudity and sex scenes that she has said are more interesting elements for her to work with. Emmy says she has become more comfortable with the sexuality as the season has gone on. “One beer for the first episode took the edge off, and then I didn’t need it again because I felt so comfortable within the character,” she notes. “It was a scarier thing for me the first time because I had never done it. After I was naked, I was like, ‘This is nothing.'”
For those of you who don’t know who Henri Lloyd jeans are, here is some background: Innovation, Creativity and Pioneering, have all been words used to describe Henri Lloyd over the past 50 years, from Henri Lloyd being the first brand to incorporate Velcro into clothing, the development of Bri-Nylon technology as well as creating the first integrated safety harness into marine clothing. As time moved on Henri Lloyd began to develop its lifestyle clothing range, which in the 1980’s saw the ├╝ber cool Milanese scooter society the “Paninari” adopt the Henri-Lloyd Consort jacket as part of their uniform. In 2007 Henri Lloyd launched the youth men’s wear label HL Jeans Co, which is now sold internationally.
2011 now sees Henri Lloyd and its younger brother HL Jeans Co join forces to launch HL Music, in association with PRS for music. Since the birth of HL Jeans Co the label has been immersed within the creative and music industry, working with artists such as the View, Two Door Cinema Club, Delphic, 1913 and this year HL Jeans Co headline sponsored the music festival Hungry Pigeon.

This weeks review is on a pair of 7 For All Mankind The Skinny leggings in Garnet. I’ve always had a thing for maroon coloured denim and when I found these online at 7 For All Mankind, I fell in love.
The reason I like these so much is because I trust 7 For All Mankind when it comes to fit and comfort. I have a couple of pairs of their Gwenevere in the gummy denim and I thought it was time to try their new cut, The Skinny. Comparing this cut to the Gwenevere, these are definitely longer on the inseam and the rise feels a little bit higher. The pockets are also plain and don’t have their signature squiggle design. I prefer the Gwenevere to these, only marginally, but that’s because I prefer the shorter inseam. Other than that, they fit pretty much the same and are just as comfortable.
The wash is a beautiful, deep red, it’s a lot like a maroon colour and it’s really warm. The shade has a Christmasy feel to it because of the warmth it gives off. There are marble undertones to it as well, the marbling is a shade of brown and it gives the jeans a lot of character. They are not plain like a lot of coloured denim is. The detailing is what makes them so unique in my opinion. I love the wash so much because of the two tones to it. Coloured denim is something I am a huge fan of but unfortunately I don’t get to review many pairs of.
I took a 27 in these, which is my normal size in their gummy denim leggings. I vary between a 27/28 in their normal jeans but always opt for my smaller size when it comes to the leggings as they are so stretchy. They definitely didn’t get it wrong when they named this cut The Skinny though, they are definitely super skinny all the way down and really flattering. I would honestly recommend these if you want a pair of deep red jeans with a depth and character to the wash. Buy these jeans at 7 For All Mankind for only $99.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen held a launch party for their Textile Elizabeth and James Line at Tacombi in New York. The event had guests such as sister Elizabeth Olsen, Leandra Medine of manrepeller.com, Harper’s Bazaar’s Joanna Hillman, theglamourai.com’s Kelly Framel, milkandmode.com’s Carol Han, and Erica Domesek of PSimadethis.com.
Each tried on a pair of jeans from the Spring 2011 line while DJ Cassie Coane spun music. Mary-Kate and Ashley themselves were also wearing a pair of bottoms from the Fall 2011 collection. I love the pair on Mary-Kate. I think the carpenter style of them is really cool, as well as the ankle-zips and the rust color. I cannot wait till those are available. You can check out images from the event below.
