Nicky Hilton was spotted doing some shopping in West Hollywood, California. Nicky brought out her summer staple, her Paige Premium Silverlake shorts in Harlow Destruction. I love the blue of these jeans. They have such a rich marine blue to them that goes with the wave/heart pattern on the pockets.
I wonder if we will see Nicky in some Paige jeans again. We seem to only spot her in her two pairs of JET jeans, the Antique wash and the Black Thrashed jeans. They do fit her really well, but I would like to see her in a bit more variety. You can click here to purchase Paige jeans from their website.
So many celebrities seem to be loving Isabel Marant right now! Sienna Miller is the latest to be seen rocking the Isabel Marant Leal denim dress from 2 seasons ago as she was leaving the Royal Haymarket theatre in Los Angeles, California.
The last time we spotted this dress on a celebrity was Jessica Alba, almost a year ago, back in June 2010. It’s nice to see another celeb wearing this creation because I think it’s beautiful. I love the way it fits like a smock but the embroidery around the neck line really makes it unique. Unfortunately this dress is no longer available to buy as it’s from a long time ago.

Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted walking to her awaiting ride in New York City. She wore her trusty custom-made pair by Maxfields LA. These jeans are just insane! I cannot get over them. They go with everything and make everything worn with them look so cool.
Actually, Mary-Kate’s whole look here is just perfect. It makes me think of her style from back in ’06. I love the navy blue Chanel jacket with the jeans. Blue, Black and white are such timeless colors. You can never go wrong when they are paired together. Everything here looks well thought out and well put together.

I thought I would do something a little different in what I share with you and customize a pair of Levi’s. I often customize my denim by ripping, shredding, patching, hemming, studding, paint splattering etc because I love to make jeans more my own.
This time I took a pair of higher rise Levi’s jeggings that I had and chopped the legs off to make them into shorts. It’s best to cut one leg first after measuring where you want them and then fold them in half and cut the other leg against the already chopped one to make sure they are the same. Since these were completely plain (see the first gallery image) I decided to make them a little more edgy and distress them. I took a small holed cheese grater and something hard to put inside the leg and then grated the denim really hard where I wanted the distressing. It does take a while to get the destruction as you want it. I also made abrasions on the zipper area, the pockets, the back pockets and around the waist band.
After I had finished doing all of that I soaked them in water to get all of the dust and fabric bits off and then I left them in the sun to dry for a while to fade the denim a bit. I then chucked them in the tumble dryer to roughen them up a little bit more. Finally I frayed the edges of the new hem with scissors. It’s really easy and simple to make your own shorts this way, it just takes a lot of patience to get the end result. I do prefer to customize and make my own denim shorts to actually buying new ones. How many of you do the same thing?
