LOOK BOOK: 4 Stroke Spring 2010

4 Stroke is going back to its roots with the S/S 2010 offering “Mother Mother.”  The two-time SIFA-nominated label pays homage to nature by focusing on natural wear organic, pima cotton and Japanese denim for the season. The line hones in on lighter washes along with light whiskering and wear & tears on lightweight, super-soft premium fabrics. Although Mother Nature’s ruggedness plays a big role in the design, 4 Stroke has yet to lose its modern, New York City edge.

The collection’s aesthetic and attitude proves that creative director, Nate Freeman, is a clever “mother-lover” who makes risky moves in denim.  To spice things up, avant-garde styles have been introduced to the lineup:  a distressed indigo work-wear trouser short in a 7 oz. pima cotton, a work-wear trouser short for men in 100% organic natural denim with a tonal “sky” dye wash, and a white stretch denim in the signature Roseland skinny fit with a with distressed tree imagery – a throw back to the designers beginnings in bridge wear.  “Mother Mother” also takes other core silhouettes for men and women through transitional looks to usher in both spring and summer seasons.

“Our past collections have relied bravely own experimental denim fabrics, so with Spring we wanted create a more true denim story,” says Freeman.  “We wanted the jeans to look like they were broken in naturally like your favorite pair you just will not throw away. Of course we left room for some fun too. It wouldn’t be 4 Stroke if we didn’t.”

Some of these styles are really hot! Do you like them?
