Denim Review: Current/Elliott Low Bells in Blue Moon

This weeks review is on the Current/Elliott Low Bell flared jeans in Blue Moon. I got sent these by the brand after falling in love with them online. I immediately fell in love with the wash and I hadn’t tried Current/Elliott in a long time. I’ve always been a fan of the brand though.

I want to start out with my favourite thing about these jeans, the fabric. They are literally the softest pair of jeans I have come across. The fabric is very lightweight and so stretchy, it’s just beautiful. It’s one of those fabrics that I like to rub my hands across just to feel how soft it is and its texture. Being that it’s like this, it makes the jeans incredibly comfortable, very much like a jegging actually with the movability of the denim. Since I got these in the mail, I have already worn them 3 times and that’s a lot for me as I like to chop and change so often.

The Blue Moon wash is very pretty, these photos are actually very representative of the colour, they are a nice medium to light blue with subtle fading here and there. It’s really beautiful and so easy to pair things with, it’s one of those ‘go with anything’ washes in my opinion. I’m sure you can see from the back photos that these are just a touch too long for me, even with my highest heels on, which are around 5.5″ in height. The inseam on these is around 34″ so I am thinking about hemming them myself. With most flares though, they always have a longer inseam of around 34-35″ so these are about right when it comes to that.

These jeans do run pretty big though, while I’m normally a 27/28 in most brands like Paige, 7 For All Mankind, Diesel etc, I had to take a 26 in these because they are very stretchy and just run generally big all over. I would recommend sizing down in these ones if you have the choice. They stretch out quite quickly too so even if they are very tight to begin with, they wont be for long.

Current/Elliott’s classic pocket shape is quite long, it’s a lot longer than most brands and it hits below where your butt cheeks meet the thighs so it’s a good pocket if you have a butt that sticks out a lot, I always find the longer pockets most flattering on the bigger buts because they don’t swamp you due to having something to stick the pockets out, in my opinion. They have quite a universal pocket shape though and it seems to look really nice on the celebs, they always look great in the brand!

One reason why I like Current/Elliott jeans would be because they always keep their details minimal, no extravagant pockets, no branding everywhere, they believe in simplicity and they always make the jeans their own with their washes. I find them to care so much about making a beautiful wash and I love that. It counteracts against the plain jeans, it gives them life. Overall though I am completely in love with these jeans and I can’t wait to wear them again actually! Buy these online at Singer22.com for $218.
