I recently came across a post about these jeans on the Huffington Post. They are a pair of jeans by the Japanese brand Facetasm. I find these jeans to be wrong on all counts. Yeah I understand the whole “we need to take more fashion risks.” But is this really a style that anyone is going to wear? I think even the “Queen” of crazy fashion at the moment herself Lady Gaga wouldn’t even be caught in these. But then again she might… you never know with Gaga. She may turn in the underwear and fishnets for denim one day.

I just find the proportions to be all wrong, which is obvious. You just don’t design a pair of half-and-half jeans (skinny being one half and the other being a boyfriend fit). It is just not a good look. The belts on the waistband I also find to be a problem and the crotch is just so unbelievable that I have nothing to say. But… I am going to leave this post on a positive note. I really like the wash of these, I think the fading and whiskering is amazing. They look very well-aged to me. What do you readers think of them?

As one of the most versatile  and popular fabrics, designers tend to get a bit creative with denim in order to stand out. However, it doesn’t mean that everything is attractive. There are some major denim disasters! Like the above jeans/pajamas from Dolce and Gabbana! Check out some of Refinery 29′s list of denim disasters below. I’ll confess and say that I think lace up jeans (like the pair Justin Gaston was spotted in) are horrible! To make it worse, I used to OWN a pair! Does she ever do anything “normal”? Lady Gaga does denim in a whole new way! She was performing in Washington wearing this interesting denim get-up. Do you follow Lady Gaga and all her interesting costumes?

*Editors note – I added a lot of Lady Gaga outfits in the gallery below, some are crazy and extreme and others are quite nice. I love her simple blue dress but as the weeks go by her clothes get wackier and weirder! I’m with Liznie, do you like her outfits?

Britney’s ex, rapper and “Father of the Year”, Kevin Federline, may be adding designer to the list.

The father of four recently announced his plans to start his own fashion line, for kids. His main goal, he states is the economy, “You buy your kids a pair of True Religion’s, then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone.”

I have a confession. I hate the 1980s.

Born in the middle of the decade I’m too young to remember any of its culture, instead preferring endless memories of Thomas The Tank Engine. And Fashionising.com is going to lead the charge: normally fully behind the majority of fashion trends and micro-trends, we’re labelling the double denim fashion trend the major faux pas amongst all of 2009′s fashion trends and 2010′s fashion trends.

I fear its true – double denim IS back. Even in the new True Religion magazine ads, you’ll see denim jackets paired with jeans or shorts. What’s your take on the new trend?
