I wanted to do a men’s look this week and chose a pair of jeans that I own and truly love from the new R13 men’s collection. The new Drop in Vintage Grey Rip by the label is such a unique piece to own for myself. Not only have I never tried a drop crotch style, but the wash is out of this world, a perfect grey.
With the styling, I wanted to keep in theme with my personal style and chose simple pieces that I have paired with them many times. I chose a simple black shirt by T by Alexander Wang and a sweater by Reigning Champ to help compliment the wash. As these have a cropped fit, I wanted to go for a mid-high sneaker and these by Visvim are perfect for that. Not only are they a great cut, but they also add a cool flare to the overall look. Then to finish everything off, a beanie by TOPSHOP to add some color. How many of you have tried out the new men’s pieces by R13?
For my weekend going out look this week, I wanted to do something in celebration of Fashion Month ending. Paris Fashion Week finally wrapped up and a lot of bloggers were wearing platform oxfords, baggier jeans and tailored coats, so that’s where my inspiration for this look came from.
I chose the Citizens of Humanity Corey boyfriend jeans as my base as I am literally obsessed with these jeans at the moment. They are amazing! I paired them with a Topshop navy cropped top and then layered a Topshop sleeveless grey jacket over the top to give it some structure. For the shoes, I went with these Stella McCartney platform Oxfords to add some height and then a Rebecca Minkoff denim belt bag to keep you hands free. Finally, for the accessories, I chose a Jules Smith spike bracelet and some Ray-Ban Erika sunglasses. What do you think of it?
For my weekend look, I styled a look around one of my monthly picks: J Brand x Simone Rocha Jake jeans in Black. I love how the ruffle detail adds a slight contrast against the slim boyfriend style.
I paired them with this soft pale pink top from Miss Selfridge, which is so feminine but the cropped length keeps it from being too sweet. Then I chose these Christian Louboutin pumps, that have a slight flare along the ankle, which is a nice touch of detail. For accessories, I chose these black onyx and pearl earrings and this Balenciaga wrap bracelet to edge the whole look up a bit. Finally, I finished with this quirky face clutch from Kate Spade. Would you wear a look like this?
For this week I wanted to take on the idea of incorporating summer pieces into the winter with layering. This R13 Double Denim Jacket in Cement Black is the perfect piece to do just that. It takes the Rhode Resort Erin dress into a territory that it is not usually associated with.
As the dress is still on the lighter side, I played with layers some more by adding this hoodie by R13. With the help of the slightly oversized cut and slits on the side, the piece doesn’t hinder from the ethereal flow of the dress. Then to keep the slight ’90s vibe going on, I chose a pair of boots by Rag & Bone to add some winter weight to the look and a textured bucket bag by Rachael Ruddick to add some contrast. How many of you are incorporating some of your summer pieces for the winter?
