As it’s now fashion month and New York Fashion Week has finished, I wanted to do my weekend going out look inspired by the occasion. Lots of ladies have been layering up and wearing long boots as it’s pretty cold on the East Coast right now, so to start this outfit off, I chose the Citizens of Humanity Rocket in Axel as I wear these constantly! They make a great base for any look.
To keep the chill off, I layered on this Topshop roll neck sweater over a couple of t-shirts and then added this Topshop ponte sleeveless jacket on top of that too, to give a variation of lengths and materials. I tucked the jeans into these GUESS over the knee boots for some style and then for the accessories, some Bvlgari sunglasses, a silver ring and a nude Jimmy Choo clutch! I really like how this look turned out and it’s definitely one that I would love to wear myself and do plan on wearing too!
The Trucker Cape by R13 is definitely a very forward piece to have in your closet. Though unique, I find that it is a great piece for the coming spring season. Which is why I chose the jacket to style three different ways this month. You can see how I styled the it below.
I wanted to do a really clean casual look with this one here, yet one that still had a bit of edge to it. I chose to pair the cape with a dress by Helmut Lang. I found that the clean lines and length of it works really well when paired with the cape and high-top green Vans. As this is a look that I pictured to be worn on a casual day out, I wanted accessories that also carried that same vibe. I finished it with a backpack by Opening Ceremony to carry your belongings and a pair of Ray-Ban aviators to add that bit of classic cool to the look.
This look popped into my head when I first thought about styling it. The idea of it paired with some classic black trousers, like these by J Brand, felt like a natural combination to me. As I felt the shape of the cape lends a more street cool to it, I wanted a shoe that had that same aspect and the original Adidas Superstar sneakers are just hat. They are perfect for the pants whether they are bunched at the ankles a bit or more cropped. I then added a classic t shirt by FRAME for its fit and drape. Like the look above, I wanted to keep accessories simple and finished it off with rings by Margiela. They help elevate the look without taking away from the overall feel.
For this look here, I wanted to do something that could carry on past spring and into the warmth of Summer. My first thought was a skirt and this A.L.C. one is perfect for just that. It is lightweight and in a print that is so fresh for the new season. With the idea of warm weather still in mind, I chose a classic white tank by T by Alexander Wang. The simple piece helps bring the vibe into fruition. Warm weather is nothing without a great pair of sandals and these by Schutz add the sense of glamour of a European vacation to the overall look. As a finishing touch, a cuff by Jennifer Fisher to elevate it even more.
-So how many of you are rethinking the edginess of this cape? How many of you are thinking to add a more feminine touch to it?
I feel like brunch is not talked about enough for being such an important meal in ones life. It can be boozy, formal, celebratory, or just plain delicious and no matter what, you gotta look good. I don’t know about you but I personally enjoy picking out a good brunch outfit because of the different ways it can be used and here are a few of my favorite ways to dress up for the occasion.
We’ve seen tons of celebrities in RE/DUN jeans lately. I love how the brand has taken vintage pairs and made them look fresh and really well-fitting, so I decided to style my weekend look around a pair.
I wanted to keep the colors of the outfit really light, so I chose this light green blouse from Helmut Lang. I kept the accessories delicate but still wanted them to make an impact with color and shine, so I chose these nude suede Jimmy Choo booties, and this yellow Valentino purse for more color. Lastly, I finished with a bit of sparkle from these Oscar De La Renta earrings and this thin diamond band from Ileana Makri.
