Ever since Isabel Marant released the Soan leather trousers a few years back, I could not stop thinking about them. Then when I heard that her collaboration with H&M was going to be a retrospective of her popular pieces, I was hoping that those pants would make an appearance. Just my luck, she did reinterpret them and they are in coated denim. So to coincide with the launch today, I decided to style them in a way that I have been envisioning them for a while.
Ever since I saw them, I thought of them being worn in sort of an underground East London/Swedish punk vibe. With great detail and a cropped semi slouchy fit, I think they embody that sort of style very well. I chose to pair them with an olive t shirt by R13, my favorite Balenciaga boots, an Hermes cuff and a Rick Owens beanie. This is something I would even wear myself, so I would say that this is another look for both the ladies and men. What do you think of this outfit?
I thought the new Mother Looker Denim in Patched Spellbound in Seattle were such a fun pair. A great update from the classic patched styles that we have been seeing and something I can see the denim market moving to. They are definitely a pair that will make even the most classic looks with the usual blue jeans get a second take by onlookers.
This look is is the most classic of the three. You can never go wrong with a pair of blue jeans and a white t shirt with some brown boots. It is a go to look for many women, but with these jeans the look becomes something more. I paired them with a t shirt by T by Alexander Wang, a bag by Chanel, classic wayfarers by Ray-ban and the new Ora boots by 3.1 Phillip Lim. When I first saw these jeans, I instantly thought of pairing them with these boots. They are a great shade that really pairs well with the wash as well as the patches.
For my weekend going out look, I decided to style the Blank NYC Spray on Skinny jeans in Bonner Pilot. These were one of both Lorna and I’s picks for last month, and I finally decided to create a look around them. My favorite part is the contrasting colors and materials of the patches.
I chose this sheer Alexander Wang blouse because I like how the black looks with the patches and I think the sheerness is a nice way to dress up these jeans for the evening. For shoes, I added these Aquazzura suede booties in nude, which I think is a nice neutral base for the rest of the outfit. I kept the rest of the accessories pretty minimal; I like the see-through factor of this PVC Diane Von Furstenburg cross body bag and I liked how this chain necklace from Topshop added a bit of toughness to the look.
For my weekend going out look this week, I wanted to do something bold and fun, but with Autumn in mind. I chose the gorgeous Paige Verdugo Leggings in Amber Crown Jewels as the base of this outfit as I think they are amazing. I first saw these earlier this year at the press day and fell in love with them. I have since purchased them myself and this is the type of outfit I plan on styling them with.
I chose a Ted Baker black blazer to add some structure and a clean vibe to the look, but I didn’t want something too smart which is why I opted for a relaxed white linen tee instead of a shirt. To give length to the legs and highlight the jeans even more, I chose a pair of Balmain black suede heels and then finished the outfit off with a Tory Burch Robinson bag in mustard. This is definitely an ensemble that I plan on wearing when the weather becomes a little more suitable, aka when it stops raining! What do you think of it?
