It’s my turn this week to style the weekend going out look and I have been really excited for this post! One of my favourite jeans are these Koral Los Angeles skinny jeans in Merlot that I got a few months ago as I find them so versatile and gorgeous! I dress them up or down and they work either way, so that’s why I wanted to include them in this weeks look.
This outfit is very much my style as it’s something that I would wear out. I always love adding colour and stand out pieces to my outfits as I find that dressing in dull colours or an outfit that’s mostly the same shade can get quite boring. This is just how my personality is though as people like Kate Moss can get away with the monochrome look day after day and make it work!
So, for this outfit, I paired the Koral jeans with a black blazer from River Island, a pewter/silver cami top from Mango, some Miss KG Arctic black suede ankle booties and an Anya Hindmarch pewter glitter clutch. I kept most of these pieces affordable from the high street as I know not everyone (myself included) can afford to splash out on expensive clothes that you would only wear a couple of times or less, so I tend to do a lot of my shopping (jeans not included) in places like Topshop and Zara which is much cheaper than designer, but still of better quality than most.
Overall though, I really love this look and am inspired to wear an outfit like this next time I go out to dinner or something similar. What do you think of the look? I feel like it’s really dressy, but it’s still a statement as the jeans are burgundy and you have elements of sparkle! I also much prefer pewter over silver as I feel it’s more classic, silver can be too bright and tacky sometimes when it comes to glitter, so pewter is a better shade to wear to keep it smart. You can also read my review on these jeans here.
I decided to style a more dressy look for this weeks going out look instead of my usual concert flare that I tend to lean towards. I chose the J Brand Vera in Stealth (click here to purchase) as it is a pant that just suits that type of styling perfectly. The weather is dropping, so I decided to take the layering route by pairing them with the Acne Patti Shirt, Joe’s Richie Sweater, Alexander Wang Bianca Heels, and a clutch from The Row.
What is great about these jeans is that even though they are a statement on their own, they are also made to pair with statement heels. The slit in the front shows the shoes off in a different way than slits at the seams would. It somehow gives off a chicer vibe, I believe. If you want to add even more to this look, adding a bold necklace would be a great choice. Although without it, I think the look will be just fine. To finish off the outfit, a clean ponytail is the perfect hairstyle for your night out.
For this styling post I decided to choose the Ksubi Van Winkle jeans in Wild Dog (click here to purchase) for the men. I thought choosing black would be a great choice so I can add a print or different texture to the looks without it looking busy. For the two outfits, I went for casual looks for both Winter and Fall.
The first look, I’d say, is the Winter look. Each look revolves around the jeans, but when I saw these Opening Ceremony shoes I was trying to figure out how I can incorporate them into an outfit and still add different textures without it leaning towards a mess. The only option I could think of was to keep it monochrome. I didn’t want to pair the jeans with just a plain t shirt as I wanted to break up all of the black, so I chose this Tailgate Clothing Co. t shirt. To add some interesting detail without going overboard, I chose this Alexander McQueen coat as the combo of the leather and wool, I find, plays really well with the jeans and shoes.
For the Fall look, I wanted it to be casual and still be a look that you don’t have to change out of if you decide to go out for a dinner. I also didn’t want the look to be monochrome, like the previous. I paired the jeans with a J. Crew cardigan, Tailgate Clothing Co. t shirt, and some Opening Ceremony Desert Boots. The boots and cardigan together help smarten the look up, but being that it is a cardigan, you would still look comfortable. Like always you can click the names of each item to purchase them for yourself.
