For my weekend going out look this week, I wanted to style something a little more dressier and since flares are becoming popular again for Fall, I thought it would be good to center the look around these Stella McCartney 70’s Flared Jeans. I think these have a gorgeous silhouette and the wash looks lovely!
To keep things classy, I paired them with an Equipment Shirt in white and then layered this gorgeous Rag & Bone Black Blazer over the top to give it some structure. For the shoes, I went with Christian Louboutin Pigalle in Nude to give some height and length to your legs, but keep things minimal. I opted for a similar shade Sergio Rossi Box Clutch as I think it gives a nice neutral balance. I then chose this pretty Sun necklace and this Rebecca Taylor crystal ring to finish it off. What do you think?
I decided to do a look that is similar to what I am wearing as I type up this post for my ‘Weekend Look’. I chose the new R13 High Rise Skinny in Dirty Black for how well the jeans are thought out. The placement and the sizing of them keeps them flattering and the wash is just so amazing.
I paired them with a distressed t shirt, also by R13, and a jacket by Diesel to keep the sort of fatigue feel going. I then chose a pair of Vans because you really can’t go wrong with them and they can take any look to an easy, no fuss vibe right away. To finish it off, a scarf by Isabel Marant because I was taking advantage of the 3 minutes of chill in the morning that we are having here in Los Angeles. What are your plans for this weekend?
These Paige Verdugo skinny jeans in Nico Blue Galaxy are not my typical style but I’ve loved them since I first saw them, so I thought I would style my weekend going out look around them.
I chose this blouse from Hope because I love how the chiffon gives normally casual plaid, a dressier vibe. I kept the shoes and accessories simple, with these classic white Converse All-Star sneakers, and a navy cross body bag from Sophie Hulme because I like the contrast of the darker blue against the bold blue patches on the jeans. Lastly, I finished with this gold pearl pendant necklace from Majorica for a bit of shine.
The frayed hem is a popular trend right now and one brand that will carry on the style into the new season is MOTHER Denim. I would say they were my highlight when I visited MOTHER to see the new collection. The style is so well thought out and the cut along with the array of washes they come in is amazing. I couldn’t wait to do a post on them and you can see how I styled The Looker Ankle Fray in Guilty as Sin below.
This style just gives an edgy vibe with the frayed detailing and the distressed knee, so doing a monochromatic biker inspired look was a given. I chose to pair them with an R13 leather jacket to add even more of a tough vibe to the concept. I then kept everything else pretty classic with some Margiela boots and a simple black t shirt by TOPSHOP, but wanted to add a chic sense with this 3.1 Phillip Lim bag. It feels like an unexpected pairing with the look, yet feels right because of the embossing of the leather.
With the distressing, the pair can also go on the casual side very easily. My first thought of a shoe pairing when I saw them was chukkas. It may be due to how I would wear them myself, which is with a similar pair like these Common Projects. I then didn’t want to stray from the easiness too far, so I chose this graphic t shirt by TOPSHOP and backpack by Opening Ceremony. A graphic t shirt and distressed jeans just go hand-in-hand. Though simple, I find a little jewelry like this Cartier bracelet gives the look just the right amount of elevation to bring it all together.
I haven’t done a look with heels in quite a while and decided to do at least one as you can dress these up as well. You can’t go wrong pairing any pair of denim with suede shoes. Both wear into something so magical that only they can achieve. I chose this pair by Stuart Weitzman because they are so classic and are a great subtle contrast to the jeans. As the weather is warm, I thought another look with a t shirt would be redundant, so I chose this camisole by TOPSHOP. I opted for this Haider Ackermann bomber jacket (get a similar one here) for a color contrast and being that the first look was all black. The Ray-Ban wayfarers are the finishing touch as you cannot go wrong with them and they just make any look feel cooler.
