For my weekend going out look this week, I wanted to style something tough, but feminine. I chose these R13 Camo Moto Jeans as I think they are really masculine, but they have a really flattering and feminine fit to them, which is perfect for the look I was going for. I styled the jeans with a Rebecca Taylor White Summer Blazer and Christian Louboutin Nude Pigalle Heels.
I think the heels and structured blazer really give a different vibe to camo and make it wearable for girly girls. I added a Nelly studded nude clutch for some edge and lots of jewellery to glam it up. I chose a heart ring and bow ring, both by Topshop and two necklaces, a black horn by Metro Park and a gold heart by Bloomingdales. It’s sort of similar to an outfit that I did before, but I think this one is a little more suitable for day time wear and evening wear.
The J Brand Nicola leather pants also come in white and I couldn’t resist putting looks together with them. The same tough feel with endless amounts of ways to wear them, yet they give a whole new feeling than the black. They feel crisp and are perfect for styling looks for now and for the coming colder months. Plus, since they are leather, there is no worrying about any sheerness.
Grays and silvers are perfect compliments to white pants. When I first saw these, I thought of no other color combination to put with them for the first look. I originally thought of a simple gray t shirt, but when I stumbled across this silver one at Topshop, I thought it added so much more life to the look. Then to make it somewhat more casual, I chose a cardigan/varsity jacket also from the high street store. I then finished off the look with a pair of the Newbury boots from Rag & Bone and to break up the grays I added a backpack by Alexander Wang. Read More >
This week for my styling, the denim of choice was the Signature Denim Jacket in Seraphina by Hudson. I find the wash to be a great classic one that can be styled numerous ways. I also don’t style jackets too often, so it is a nice change.
As fashion week/month is quickly approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to dress up the denim jacket and do a look that was worthy of the street style photographers. I chose to pair it with a dress by Givenchy because the proportions work really well with the proportions of the jacket. Then to toughen up the look and bring in a bit of a biker feel, my choice of footwear was the Balenciaga Cut-Out Ceinture boots. I then finished the look off with a vintage YSL bangle and a bag by Alexander Wang to help you carry all of your belongings. How many of you are looking forward to fashion week?
Another incarnation of the TEXTILE Elizabeth and James Cooper jeans has been born. This time in black and white stripes for fall. I just cannot get tired of them because they fit so well and the details are bold without feeling overwhelmed. Since they are one of my favorites and I styled just about every other version of them, why not add a new one to the mix? See all of the looks I came up with below.
I wanted to do one look that was fun by mixing prints. When done right, I think, leopard and stripes do work together very well. The key in my opinion for mixing these prints together is by keeping one or the other subtle or classic. I decided to go subtle and go with a burgundy leopard printed shirt from Burberry. As the combination of these two prints together can feel very punk, I wanted to play up that theme a bit more. Balenciaga also has a new take on their Cienture boots that I thought would bring in the punk vibe some more. I then finished it off with a studded belt from Burberry and backpack from Saint Laurent.
