At the moment, I’m really feeling the high rise straight leg jeans trend. They have a vintage Levi’s 501 vibe to them, but in a slightly more modern way. I chose the new Citizens of Humanity Liya Jeans for my weekend going out look this week as I’m always used to styling skinny or boyfriend jeans.
I wanted to channel Hilary Duff’s vibe and went with a Balenciaga Leather Jacket in tan to pair with some Rag & Bone Harrow Boots in a similar colour. I then chose a Mango Cream Sweater to keep things neutral and an Accessorize Beanie to keep you warm. This is definitely something I would wear myself if I was going out casually on the weekend.
I decided to do a look for women this week with the AMO Tomboy Jeans in Beloved. I love that they have a Japanese sense to them in the design and feel as though you can see them on the men of Pitti Uomo as well. There is strength to the pair that I find to feel timeless and versatile. What is also great about these jeans is that they work well for this look whether they are on the longer side or worn cuffed.
For this outfit, I wanted to go for an effortless feel and something you can wear to a casual dinner. But I didn’t want to go for a look that felt completely last minute. To do that, I think the pairing of the Splendid turtleneck with the La Perla robe helps bring that to life with the contrast of the pieces. The Stuart Weitzman sandals also help bring in a more casual vibe to the look and gives it a beachy feel. Then to finish it off, I chose a Balenciaga pouch to help bring out the lines of the robe. What do you think of this look? Would you wear something like this for a dinner?
The past couple of years I have done winter looks for women with white jeans, but this time around I am doing looks for the men and on the other end of the spectrum. I chose classic pairs from J Brand, Paige and Nudie to do looks that will suit any guy whether he is into something smarter or more casual and one look that is in-between. See the outfits that I came up with below.
This look is with a pair of the J Brand Mick Skinny in Black. I wanted to keep in theme of what J Brand pushes for when it comes to their men’s line and that is something that is clean and smart, so I started off by pairing the jeans with a cable knit turtleneck by H&M. I then chose a jacket by Lanvin to layer over for added warmth and a cap by Gents Co. to help bring in a slight streetwear vibe, but not one to take away from the clean feel. As I pictured this look to have the jeans worn cuffed, I chose a pair of boots by Grenson as they helped carry on a smart feel to finish it off.
For my look that was in the center of the three, I went for the Paige Croft Skinny in Black Shadow. They are a cut that works so well with a look just like this. As it is an outfit that is a mix of casual and smarts, I paired them with a t shirt by Margeila and a pair of Vans Old Skool sneakers. To elevate the combination, I choose a trench by Burberry and sunglasses by Raen as they bring in an English vibe when paired together.
The Nudie Tight Long John in Black Heat is the perfect piece for something that is super casual, especially when the hem is chopped off like I did with this pair. For this look, I wanted to go for a layered double denim outfit. We usually see double denim with at least one piece in a blue wash, but I wanted to keep in theme with the post and wanted to keep all the denim pieces in black, which is why I chose this Diesel jacket to layer over a hoodie by Reigning Champ. To finish it off, I went for a cap by Undefeated and a pair of the J. Crew x Vans Sk8-Hi sneakers.
-How many of you are donning looks like this for the season?
Since we already styled a few New Year’s Eve looks, I wanted to style a look that is perfect for a lower key night. I wanted something that was casual but still a bit dressier than normal jeans, since New Year’s is a great excuse to change your look up. I chose these J Brand suede pants in army green, then went this patterned River Island poncho to add a cozy layer over this sheer black blouse from Isabel Marant, which adds a romantic touch. I finished the look with these Valentino flats and red tassel earrings from Oscar de la Renta for a touch of color.
