This is the final installment in our dressing for winter series and it’s the UK edition. Those of you who live in the UK, like myself, will probably understand that our winters are usually a lot different to those in LA or other parts of the country due to the excessive rain. England is known for grey skies and rain and honestly that is exactly what it is like, although at the moment we have snow lining the grounds for some extra wetness and cold! For my dressing for winter post, I used the 4 main staple items which keep me warm! One thing I always do is layer though, so make sure you have your layers on underneath before you start! Purchase the items by clicking the corresponding numbers.
I noticed that we haven’t used leather in our “Weekend Looks” yet and being that it is one of the biggest trends right now, I thought it would be a great choice this week. I chose the Joe’s Leather Pants in Fiery Red because I just love the color; it is bold and makes a statement, but is still able to be styled in numerous ways.
For this look I decided to go smart by pairing them with a Joseph blazer, James Perse t shirt, and Balmain boots. For that little flare and added edge, I accessorized the look with a Reed Krakoff cuff and Jimmy Choo studded belt. I find adding the hints of metal to this look helps keep it fun without taking it too far. What do you guys think of this look?
I chose these J Brand studded jeans because I really loved the intricate details of the beads and studs and I thought they had a really edgy look. I wanted to keep everything else minimalist but not too girly, so I chose this sheer Alexander McQueen Blouse.
I wanted to add some color with this Zara Studded bag and the jewelery, so I chose this green ring from Forever 21 and these blue skull stud earrings from Iosslliani. I thought the cap toe of these black Anne Klein shoes kept the outfit interesting and didn’t distract from the details of the pants.
For my look I chose these Citizens of Humanity Elson Straight leg jeans because they have a bit of a higher rise and I thought the straight leg would look really nice with these Belle Sigerson Morrison booties. I chose these booties because they’re easy for walking around the city while still keeping your feet warm.
For a top, I chose this Otte NY sweater in camel, I always like turtlenecks because they keep me warm without adding the bulk of a scarf, and I think this slouchiness makes it look very cozy! I think it is easy to stick with basic black outwear and accessories in the winter, but to keep things from getting too boring or drab, I chose this cheery bright peach winter jacket. I wanted to keep the jacket from looking too girly, so I added some edge with this leopard print beret and finished the look with red leather texting gloves, because there’s no bigger pain then taking off your gloves to text!
