The Amanda jean from DL1961 is such a versatile cut, it can be worn with pretty much anything. DL1961 asked me to style 3 different washes in the Amanda in 3 very different ways, to prove how easy they are to wear. The Amanda is a great skinny jean, it has a 31″ inseam, a 8.25″ rise, a leg opening of 11″ and is one of the brands best sellers! It’s similar to the Emma in fit, but it’s skinnier and has a longer inseam. Now onto the styling!
I chose the Pixie in Fashionably Late by MOTHER Denim as my choice to style this week for my ‘Going Out’ look. You may have remembered reading how much of a fan I am of them and I couldn’t think of a better style to choose this week. With the high-rise and slight crop, they were perfect for the slight retro vibe that I was going for.
Being that these are a higher rise, I thought a boxy crop top like this one by Topshop would work really well with them. It has a length that is just cropped enough to skim the waistband of the jeans to show a tad of skin. But as the weather is starting to cool down, I couldn’t not add a sweater. This one by Scotch & Soda has a great fit and texture to it and adds great dimension to the look.
To finish everything off, some cool ankle boots by Toga and a Givenchy bag to add some heavy metal to the outfit. Then just for a little added fun touch, I decided to top everything off with a military hat by Eugenia Kim to add a bit of a quirk to the overall feel of the look. How many of you are excited to don a similar outfit for the weekend?
Since today is Thanksgiving in the US, I wanted to style an outfit that is both festive but also comfortable. I chose these Black Orchid Jewel Jeggings in Dark Night because they have a great mid-rise and also have a ton of stretch (to accommodate lots of eating!)
I chose this Suno tartan blazer because I love the classic green print, but the silhouette gives it a more modern look. I layered it over a slouchy white t shirt from Topshop. For shoes, I chose these taupe IRO booties because I love the unique shape of the heel and the color is a great basic. I kept the accessories minimal with this Ivanka Trump pendant and added a bit of color with this Proenza Schouler PS1 clutch because I love how the yellow picks up the yellow in the jacket.
For this weeks weekend going out look, I wanted to show how you can actually transition the same pair of jeans from day to night. I chose these Seafarer Penelope Flare Jeans in Rinse as they had a really classic wash and a nice clean cut.
For the day time look, which is more casual and comfy, I chose a Wildfox Fox Sweater and a Victoria Beckham Liberty Tote to go with the blue and orange colour scheme. I think this would be such an easy look for daytime shopping and lunch, just throw on some wedges under the flares and you are all set.
For the evening look, I switched out the sweater in favour of this Topshop Red Heart Shirt, it’s much like the famous Burberry one, but a bit more vibrant. I chose a Vivienne Westwood Private Envelope Clutch to match as well. I would add some statement jewellery to this outfit in the form of bracelets and rings and for the shoes, I would put some heels on.
I usually end up styling skinny jeans, so I thought it would make a nice change to do some flares instead. Which look do you prefer? And how many of you like to just change your tops and accessories, while keeping your jeans on, to create a different style?
