It’s that time of year again where Halloween is upon us! So many get excited and plan their outfits months in advance, while others prefer to leave things last minute and make do with what they have. For those of you looking to incorporate some denim into your costume and keep things simple, yet stylish, we have each put together a look which should hopefully give you inspiration! Ranging from Kanye West and Karl Lagerfeld from Jonathan and Jennifer, to my own army girl combo. I think there’s something for everyone! Which do you like the most?
This year I decided to chose an outfit inspired by Kanye West’s stage look from the Watch The Throne tour. It has become a look that is considered iconic because of its muted color palette, yet still being memorizing. I chose the J Brand L8001 Leather Pants in Noir as my choice in jeans because just like Kanye’s look, it has been a style that has showed stability in the market. I then chose a muscle shirt by Rick Owens for its length. Of course the look could not be done without a Givenchy piece as Riccardo Tisci designed each of his outfits during the tour, so I chose this sweater with a star motif. Then to finish it off, a kilt like leather skirt by Belstaff and a pair of Nike Jordan IVs to bring the whole vibe together. What are you guys dressing up as this year?
For my Halloween look this year, I decided to go for something completely different. I usually do a cat or something along those lines as Halloween over here in England is celebrated with scary outfits, however I decided to go the American route this time and choose something none scary! I’ve opted for an army/camo girl look and these True Religion camo jeans were the perfect pair to set this outfit up. I matched them with a camo print shirt from J.Crew and then some Steve Madden combat boots and a beanie to finish the military clothing off. Then for accessories, I added a touch of cool with the Ray-Ban Wayfarers and dog tags and then made it feminine with red lipstick and nail polish. If I didn’t already have my outfit planned, I would definitely wear this!
For my Halloween look, I took a note from a fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld. I put together an outfit styled after his signature black and white looks. I chose these Rag & Bone black skinny jeans, because Karl tends to wear a slimmer silhouette. I added this white dress shirt from Alexander Wang and this Givenchy black wool blazer. The key to this look is really in the accessories. Karl tends to wear ribbons tied at the neck, so I chose this Dolce & Gabbana one and would secure it with this Nina star pin. Karl is rarely ever seen without his other signature piece, fingerless gloves, so I chose this pair from Marc Jacobs. For shoes, I chose these Kenneth Cole loafers and these dark rimmed aviator style glasses from Celine. Lastly, I added a fluffy white cat like Karl’s beloved Choupette.
I wanted to go for something that had the same vibes as double denim without actually being so. I love the idea of a suede button-down shirt and chose this one by Neil Barrett. It gives off the same vibes as double denim, but with the mix of textures, helping take the look away from that casualness. I chose these Robert Clergerie brogues because I didn’t want to go for the usual sneakers or ankle boots as they will make the look too casual. These keep the outfit feeling smart without it feeling stuffy. Then to finish the look off, a beanie by Jack Spade and a backpack from The Row
For my weekend going out look this week, I wanted to do something monochrome as I’m loving that combination at the moment. I chose these gorgeous Citizens of Humanity Rocket skinny jeans in London’s Calling as I have adored the wash for ages, then paired them with this classic Pierre Balmain Tuxedo blazer which I layered over a simple white GAP tank top.
For the accessories, I wanted to make it a bit more edgy and dramatic which is why I chose the famous Valentino Rockstud heels in black and this Givenchy Shark Tooth necklace in silver to add even more toughness. Since I didn’t want this entire outfit to be without colour though, I finished it off with this pretty Charlotte Olympia Pandora Box Clutch in metallic blue. Isn’t it gorgeous? This is definitely something I would wear myself!
I chose this Balmain blazer because I love the feminine line which adds a bit of tailoring to the outfit. I chose these Doc Martins because I love how they give a little bit of punky-edge to the plaid on the jeans. I finished with these classic Ray Ban Wayfares and these crystal stud earrings from Amber Sceats.
