Since today is Thanksgiving in the US, I wanted to style an outfit that is both festive but also comfortable. I chose these Black Orchid Jewel Jeggings in Dark Night because they have a great mid-rise and also have a ton of stretch (to accommodate lots of eating!)
I chose this Suno tartan blazer because I love the classic green print, but the silhouette gives it a more modern look. I layered it over a slouchy white t shirt from Topshop. For shoes, I chose these taupe IRO booties because I love the unique shape of the heel and the color is a great basic. I kept the accessories minimal with this Ivanka Trump pendant and added a bit of color with this Proenza Schouler PS1 clutch because I love how the yellow picks up the yellow in the jacket.
For this weeks weekend going out look, I wanted to show how you can actually transition the same pair of jeans from day to night. I chose these Seafarer Penelope Flare Jeans in Rinse as they had a really classic wash and a nice clean cut.
For the day time look, which is more casual and comfy, I chose a Wildfox Fox Sweater and a Victoria Beckham Liberty Tote to go with the blue and orange colour scheme. I think this would be such an easy look for daytime shopping and lunch, just throw on some wedges under the flares and you are all set.
For the evening look, I switched out the sweater in favour of this Topshop Red Heart Shirt, it’s much like the famous Burberry one, but a bit more vibrant. I chose a Vivienne Westwood Private Envelope Clutch to match as well. I would add some statement jewellery to this outfit in the form of bracelets and rings and for the shoes, I would put some heels on.
I usually end up styling skinny jeans, so I thought it would make a nice change to do some flares instead. Which look do you prefer? And how many of you like to just change your tops and accessories, while keeping your jeans on, to create a different style?
Lately I have been preferring looks with white jeans for the winter season over summer. It’s a great way to add a crisp feel to layered looks, as shown by many of the editors of Vogue Paris throughout the years. For these looks, I choose the Hudson Nico in White to work with. They have a great cropped fit that is super slim and can have a great slouch to it depending on the size you choose.
This one is more for the fall weather (in warmer locations, i.e. California) than winter if I had to be honest. One of my favorite looks is an all white one with hints of silver working throughout the look. The new Isabel Marant x H&M belt is the best piece to give that hint of silver along with the details of these Saint Laurent boots. I then added a scarf by Proenza Schouler because it gives just enough color without taking away from the crisp white look of the jeans with the IRO t shirt.
Another one of my favorite looks is a pair of cropped white jeans with some Chelsea boots. Especially when they are about an inch or two above the shaft of the jeans and showing a tad of ankle. I chose the classic pair by Balenciaga because they are just the perfect cut in my eyes. Then to add a “borrowed from the boyfriend” look, I chose a plaid shirt from IRO, a jacket from R13 and some Ray-Bans to keep the look feeling classic.
As the other two were paired with ankle boots, I wanted to do something without a pair and with a more feminine sense. Something that still had the essence and structure of winter without the literal shoe choice. For this look here, the jeans are styled with a jacket by IRO, a t shirt by R13, some Saint Laurent pumps and to finish it off, the Lucrezia by Givenchy.
-So how many of you will be wearing your layers with white jeans for this season?
Ever since Isabel Marant released the Soan leather trousers a few years back, I could not stop thinking about them. Then when I heard that her collaboration with H&M was going to be a retrospective of her popular pieces, I was hoping that those pants would make an appearance. Just my luck, she did reinterpret them and they are in coated denim. So to coincide with the launch today, I decided to style them in a way that I have been envisioning them for a while.
Ever since I saw them, I thought of them being worn in sort of an underground East London/Swedish punk vibe. With great detail and a cropped semi slouchy fit, I think they embody that sort of style very well. I chose to pair them with an olive t shirt by R13, my favorite Balenciaga boots, an Hermes cuff and a Rick Owens beanie. This is something I would even wear myself, so I would say that this is another look for both the ladies and men. What do you think of this outfit?
