3 Ways to Style the J Brand Martini Flares in Shadow

06.22.2012 Posted in Styling Jeans by Jonathan

For this post I decided to style the J Brand Martini Flares in Shadow (click here to buy for $176). Being Summer I think they will be a great choice to keep you cool while still looking chic. I chose the Shadow wash being that it is one of my favorites that J Brand has come out with and it is the most true to me.

This one has to be my favorite out of the three. One of the main reasons why I also chose these jeans to style is that they were the first pair that came to mind when I saw this Clover Canyon Jacket. I thought they would both compliment each other perfectly. I decided to play with clean lines with this look. I also wanted to add a jumble of bracelets to pile on the left wrist to help bring the look together because the sleeves of the jacket are cut short. I paired them with the Duffy tank from the J Brand RTW collection, The Row Metal-framed lizard clutch, Zeffira Rita Bangles, an Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer Annebelle Bracelet, Tai Gold Hook & Woven Leather Bracelet, and some Chloe Marcie Sandals. I think this look will work on many women. Even if the jeans are a bit to long and you decide to hack off the bottom (a la Christopher Kane x J Brand Flares) it will still work out just as fine.

I wanted to keep this look very simple and chic. One that you can go day to night with. A neutral printed shirt is the best way to spruce up an outfit without the sacrifice of looking put together. I paired the jeans with a floral printed Gucci shirt, Chloe Marci Clutch, Michael Kors Blair Watch, and some suede Balmain Sofia boots. I think if you tie your hair in a ponytail, roll up the sleeves on the shirt and do just a front tuck, this look will be perfect.

I always like to do one super casual look with each post and this is it. I think this is an easy Sunday look. One that you can easily throw on to just lounge around with friends in or go on a trip to the flea market. I paired the jeans with a plaid Boy. by Band of Outsiders shirt, Lovely Bird Biarritz Felt Hat, Spell Bone & Tassel Bag, and some Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals. I usually pile on the jewelry with the casual looks to help spruce it up a bit, but I wanted to keep this one simple. I think with all the detail in the bag and hat, it would look overwhelming. Like the first look, I think, if these jeans are too long to wear with flat shoes, I think a fray and slit at the outseam would work really well with the look.

Styling Diesel Zanity 8AT for New York Speed

06.20.2012 Posted in Styling Jeans by Jonathan

Diesel 2 e1340138989166 Styling Diesel Zanity 8AT for New York Speed

New York Speed asked us to style a pair of the Diesel Zanity 8AT jeans for their site. I decided to go for a more business look. Not too business though. I find bootcut jeans to run on the cleaner side than any other jean. You can’t really go full on grunge. It will always dress up the look. I paired it with a House of Howe blazer, 55 DSL t shirt, and some Bed Stu boots. I think you can either wear the jeans tucked into the boots (in a more disheveled way) to look more relaxed or you can wear it with a slight cuff for a cleaner look. You can click here to find all of these pieces from New York Speed.

Visit NewYorkSpeed.com and use coupon code ‘DenimBlog’ for an additional 30% off the sales price for Diesel, G-Star Raw, and True Religion.

Styling DL1961′s Emma in Seaglass & Emma in Onyx

06.13.2012 Posted in Styling Jeans by Lorna, Editor

DL1961 Styling Green Styling DL1961s Emma in Seaglass & Emma in Onyx

This time I got to style two pairs of DL1961 jeans for our styling challenge posts. I chose both of the Emma cuts as they are my favourite, I love how skinny and flattering they are. I usually like to keep my outfits simple and neutral with 1 or 2 items that really pop in colour, I find this brings out a look really nicely.

So for the Emma in Seaglass (above) I styled them with a Miss Selfridge tie front shirt, a Rag & Bone Tuxedo jacket, a Mulberry Bayswater bag in Burgundy, Giuseppe Zanoti double platform heels and a Made Merenge silver ring. I think this outfit is really pretty. It’s a fun look with the green and burgundy, but at the same time the blazer and the heels really bring the pieces together to give it a smarter feel. I could definitely see this outfit on someone like Kim Kardashian or Jessica Alba.

DL1961 Styling Black Styling DL1961s Emma in Seaglass & Emma in Onyx

For the Emma in Onyx, I went with a red MTWTFSS Weekday Lara Blouse, Christian Louboutin Lady Peep nude heels, a nude Jeanie S clutch and a Low Luv x Erin Wasson Horse Leg pendant. This is definitely more of an evening look with the clutch and peep toe heels, I think you could wear this to dinner or out for the evening with your girlfriends/partner. Again with colour, the red blouse really gives it that pop you need to create a statement, while the other pieces in nude and black keep it toned down for a classic look.

I have included some of DL1961′s other jeans in the gallery below, so you can see what other styles they have on offer. They have the Angel in Sherbert and Key Lime along with the Kate Cropped in Chaos. All of these items are available to buy at the DL961 website by clicking here. So which outfit do you like the most?

Styling Diesel Krooley 888R for SSENSE – On Sale Now

05.31.2012 Posted in Styling Jeans by Jonathan

Ssense e1338309139634 Styling Diesel Krooley 888R for SSENSE On Sale Now

It’s that time of year again. The end of the season sales! One of the first to start loading up their sale section with amazing stuff is SSENSE. For this styling post I decided to choose a pair of Diesel Krooley 888R (click here to purchase). I chose these because I know many of you readers love Diesel and I think the wash of these is amazing.

I decided to go very casual with the look. One that you can wear to just about every Summer weekend or to wear just for a day out. I paired the jeans with a McQ T Shirt, a John Varvatos cardigan, Marc Jacobs beanie, Shipley & Halmos Edison Sunglasses, and some YSL Desert espadrilles. I think during the Summer everyone just wants to be comfortable, but still put together and not sloppy. I think this look covers all those bases without any concern. You can click on the links above to purchase these items so you can be Summer ready.
