Paper Denim & Cloth Jeans

Paper Denim & Cloth is back!

Paper Denim & cloth, started in 1999 as a premium denim brand, is emerging once again as an important label for the customer who appreciates authenticity, quality and understated style. The flattering shapes continue to speak to the contemporary customer, as do the soft hand vintage washes, and the acute attention to detail. This reintroduction of the product for Spring 2010, takes into consideration all of the important factors that are inherent in the brand building, especially the iconic J stitch back pocket, white labels, printed inside pockets and inner numeric sizing. The new era of Paper Denim & cloth has an added stimulus… the jeans are repriced for today’s challenging market. There is a wide berth of washes and the important silhouettes from skinny to boot cut. This collection is well worth your consideration in this important brand re-launch. The jeans are now available on The National Jean Company website and as a special treat to our loyal DenimBlog fans they are offering you 20% off of full priced merchandise until 26th March 2010. Use the code DenimBlog20 at the checkout for your discount. Welcome back Paper Denim & Cloth! Click here to shop the brand.

Paper Denim & Cloth designer starts new line

resin

Chris Gilbert, the brains behind Paper Denim & Cloth, has started a new line with both fit and price in mind. The new line, called Resin, will focus on offering skinny and straight legged styles in vintage washes, at affordable prices. Gilbert stated that his biggest goal was,” (for) someone to pick out a pair, try them on, and be shocked when they see the price.” While price point, which ranges from $128-158 a pair is not cheap, it is less expensive than many luxury brands. They’ll be appearing at boutiques this fall!

Has Paper Denim & Cloth gone under?

paperdenim.jpg

We got an email tip that Paper Denim & Cloth has gone under, and that several Paper Denim & Cloth employees and designers have told our source its true.  Can anyone confirm?  The site PaperDenim.com is down.  We will post if we get confirmation, but so far,  this seems to be pretty credible.  Interesting because Earnest Sewn was created by the same designer and founder as Paper Denim & Cloth, and Earnest Sewn just got a new financial backer and are set to expand…did they kill Paper Denim off in the process?

Paper Denim & Cloth has lowered its price point lately – which we can’t complain about, as we still love the quality of their jeans!  (And no, they are not made out of paper).  We love these Paper Denim & Cloth Bootcut Jeans in the Fusion Stretch wash, on sale at Macy’s for just $60.99!
