January Jones in O*T*R

08.21.2010 Posted in Celebrity Pictures in Designer Jeans, Denim Brands, New Jeans Trends by Jennifer

 January Jones in O*T*R

January Jones goes shopping at Target with rumored beau Saturday Night Live star, Jason Sudeikis. January was recently cast in the upcoming film, X-Men Origins: First Class. She will play Emma Frost, who is the White Queen with telepathic powers.

January is wearing a pair of O*T*R jeans, in the Renegade Skinny jean in Notorious wash. She’s been seen in these skinnies before. I still haven’t tried O*T*R jeans, since I still think they’re flying under the radar but I think more and more celebs are becoming fans! I really like the detail along the cuff of the of the ankles. You can buy these OTR jeans at Revolve Clothing for $136.

Madonna Launches Material Girl Collection

07.06.2010 Posted in new brands, New Jeans Trends, New Styles by Jennifer

 Madonna Launches Material Girl Collection

Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes, have launched a new collection for Macy’s. The line, aptly titled Material Girl, will feature rock and roll styles, including leather, lace and denim, at a wallet friendly price point.

The collection which launches August 3rd, across the country, features looks that are reminiscent of those Madonna has worn throughout her career. Including a denim motorcycle jacket, high-waisted skinny jeans, and a denim band jacket.

The price point for the collection ranges from $12-40, with special items for as much as $80. While the collection is a nod to the styles made famous by Madonna, it was really the brainchild of her 13 year old daughter, Lourdes. The singer said, “My role was really to make sure we were all going in the right direction and it was a line that I could stand behind and be proud of and feel good about — and one that she could also feel represented her. I really like the way Lola dresses, and I think this line is absolutely an extension of her taste.”

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

06.08.2010 Posted in Denim Brands, denim trends, denimblog, New Jeans Trends by Jennifer

A lot of celebrities have been seen out wearing denim dresses, which I think is a perfect look for summer. Accessorize them however you want and you can make a casual or dressier outfit. I chose the three looks below because I think they represent 3 different ways to wear this trend.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

I love Jessica Alba’s look of her denim Isabel Marant dress paired with chunkier boots. The boots make the dress a little less girly and sweet. You could just as easily pair this with a pair of flip flops for the pool or wedges for a fun night out.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This dress from Surface to Air has a great cut and could easily be accessorized with a great necklace and shoes! It retails for $276 here.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This dress from Miss Sixty has similar lines to Jessica’s and is cut away from the body. Plus the heart-shaped bodice adds a unique detail like Jessica’s. It’s on sale for $67 at Asos.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

LeAnn Rimes chose to take a bit of a sexier route by wearing this corset style mini dress from Lover. This dress is currently on sale for $283.50 at Net-a-porter but if that is still out of your budget, check out some of the alternatives below.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This dark denim dress from Voom retails for $104 and can be purchased here.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This denim bustier dress from DKNY has subtle detailing along the bustier which flatters, while the sash slims your waist. You can purchase this dress for $79 from DKNY.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This sweet little dress just needs perfect heels to take it from sweet to sexy. It retails for $63 from Modcloth.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

While I was not too fond of Liv Tyler’s Stella McCartney jumper style denim dress, I think that a jumper style dress has great  potential and could be a basic that works from spring with a cardigan over it to winter layered with a tee and boots.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This dress from Gap is similar to Liv’s in that it has a thicker strap and snaps down the front. The skirt adds some dimension which keeps it from being too matronly. It retails for $69.50 at Gap.

Steal Her Style: Denim Dress Edition

This adorable dress from Asos shows enough leg not to be matronly but still lends the possibility to be conservative by layering it with a tee or tank (like Liv). It retails for $60 here.

Jules Smith Denim Wrap Bracelet

05.13.2010 Posted in New Jeans Trends, New Styles by Lorna, Editor

jsd502 Sasha BLUE Jules Smith Denim Wrap Bracelet

How cute is this bracelet?! It’s by the designer Jules Smith. It’s a denim double wrap bracelet, accentuated with a gold snap star closure, splattered gold detailing and a thin link chain for a playful, all-American look. I love it! It’s also available in black and you can buy them at JulesSmithDesigns.com. The only downside is it is pretty expensive for a little denim bracelet, it retails at $110. What do you think of it? Do you want one?
