New Jeans Trends
This week was fashion week in both L.A. and Seattle. Yes, Seattle. Winning awards for their Supima denim in L.A. were Goldsign, Seven for All Mankind, Paige Premium Denim, J Brand and more. What is Supima denim you might ask…Supima is the world’s finest cotton. Of the over 115 million bales of cotton produced worldwide each year, less than 1% is qualified to carry the Supima name. Supima, short for Superior Pima, is renowned for its superior fiber length, strength and natural luster. Seattle’s fashion week also brought awareness about Sling and Stones, an organic designer denim with 24kt gold rivets. Check out the HonestForum discussion on Green Jeans. Would you buy them? So we all know that all things reminiscent of the 80’s are coming back in a big way, and this spring it was the new bright colored jeans trend – featuring jeans in Pinks, Blues, Yellows and more. Now for fall and winter we are seeing more of a trend towards colored jeans in darker tones, navy blues, maroon, browns and greys. Check out the full line of Joe’s Jeans on Revolve Clothing with many new hues!
When the skinny jeans trend first started, we thought to ourselves, this trend will be so over in NO time and had no intentions of buying any since we tend to stick to styles with more staying power. But our predictions were way off, since we are going into Fall and skinny jeans are still hot! For fall and winter we are seeing more skinnies being worn with oversized sweaters & jackets as if they were leggings – the tighter the better (as long as there’s no muffin top ladies!) Now we guess we need to break down and get some skinnies finally!

Sometimes you just gotta have that hot new bag or accessory to complement your hot designer jeans, right?! What’s big in accessories for Fall are bright metallics, like this Kooba silver mirrored bag for $825 at ShopBop. We are also seeing a big silver theme in shoes, belts and other accessories too! Love ’em or hate ’em?
