New Jeans Trends
Fergie In Snake Print Jeans
Fergie has been quite adventurous when it comes to denim. She’s worn spiked and studded styles, bright colors, and even an ombre pair. Most recently, she stepped out to get her hair styled, wearing a pair of snake skin denim pants, which she wore with a black fringe jacket and boots.
Many designers are starting to add printed jeans to their collections. Sass + Bide have released a leopard print pair, which celebs like Vanessa Hudgens are fans of. Rock and Republic’s fall 2010 collection also offered a variety of printed styles as well and Paige has the new Tanzania wash. What do you think of Fergie’s jeans? Will you wear printed jeans?
J Brand’s 5×5 Collaborations’
J Brand is not only known for their great jeans but also their great collaborations. J Brand recently collaborated with acclaimed US brand Proenza Schouler. Now they’ve teamed up with 5 emerging British designers for their 5×5 Collaboration.

As J Brand’s founder Jeff Rudes explains, “Working with all five designers on 5 x 5 was a very rewarding experience for us. Each designer had a unique interpretation of J Brand that continues to expand the breadth of our brand. Our mission is to be a fashion leader that is making a difference; the project will help support future young designers through the Centre for Fashion Enterprise, the London organization that provides business guidance and mentoring for emerging fashion design talent.”

Levi’s Curve Launch Event
Recently I blogged about Levi’s new innovative line, Levi’s Curve, which offers jeans that are meant to fit beyond just waist size. Levi’s Curve is meant to focus on providing the best fits for your curves. They launched three different styles One, for women who find the fit in the hips and thighs good but are too tight in the waist, a demi curve (if your jeans “usually fit in the waist but don’t flatter the figure”) and a bold curve (if jeans “fit in the hips and thighs, but gap in the back”).
The line celebrated their launch in Bryant Park, NYC (The former home of Mercedes Benz Fashion week!) on August 27th. What launch would be complete without celebrities? Although celebrities like Emma Roberts and Katherine Heigl have already picked up pairs, Bobbie Thomas was one guest in attendance, as well as a performance by Janelle Monae.
Big Luv Denim Launches!
Comedian Tommy Miles recently launched a new line of curvy fit jeans. He’s created a line of jeans aimed for a curvier fit called Big Luv Denim.
His jeans will provide a fashionable and flattering fit in plus sizes. The brand’s aim is to be “A unique, lifestyle brand, celebrating the fashion conscious full figured woman. We believe that fashion is for everyone… and there is no exception for the curvaceous ladies who are Full-Figured, Fabulous and Fine!”
The collection celebrated their launch on August 28th but the line will be available in Spring of 2011. The Fashion Show debuted in the Islander Ballroom at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the meantime, you can visit their website at Bigluvdenim.com or become their fan on Facebook.

Elly Jackson in Proenza Schouler x J Brand
Two of my favorite brands, Proenza Schouler and J Brand announced their collaboration during Fall Fashion week. which had all over graffiti print, lending an 80s street vibe. The jean is made from 11oz of Japanese denim, which is printed, then painted to achieve the texture and dimension, ensuring a unique look. The collection was available for purchase starting in July.
However, the latest celebrity to wear the collaboration is Elly Jackson. For the infamous September issue of Vogue, Elly donned a pair of the black and white graffiti skinny jeans, as she appeared in a feature with models and celebrities like Dakota Fanning and Hayden Christensen.
You can buy the September issue of Vouge on sale now and you can buy the Proenza Schouler x J Brand collaboration jeans online at ProenzaSchouler.com
January Jones in O*T*R
January Jones goes shopping at Target with rumored beau Saturday Night Live star, Jason Sudeikis. January was recently cast in the upcoming film, X-Men Origins: First Class. She will play Emma Frost, who is the White Queen with telepathic powers.
January is wearing a pair of O*T*R jeans, in the Renegade Skinny jean in Notorious wash. She’s been seen in these skinnies before. I still haven’t tried O*T*R jeans, since I still think they’re flying under the radar but I think more and more celebs are becoming fans! I really like the detail along the cuff of the of the ankles. You can buy these OTR jeans at Revolve Clothing for $136.
