Just in time for spring, Madewell has launched a great new style. The slouchy trouser jean, which is perfect for wearing with flats or heels, you can dress it up or down! A new trend that seems to be showing up in most of the brands are patches. Usually put on to cover a hole or to give a carefree hippy vibe that tears won’t give alone. But now they are put on to add to the distressing, they are even under the tears. Brands such as Hudson, True Religion, and more are on this trend. This is also not just for the ladies. Hysteric Glamour, Ksubi, and Diesel have also come out with styles for men. Check out some of the styles below.

Peachy/Pinky/Coral colours all seem to be hot this season. Current/Elliott were first to release their coloured denim jacket and skinny jeans and now Pepe jeans have followed the trend. Coral seems to be one of the most fashionable colours right now. Christian Louboutin has just released a lot of his shoes in this beautiful shade of pinky/orange Coral as well for Spring 2010. Pepe Jeans London Skinny jeans in Coral are a great buy, Current/Elliott’s long sleeve Biker Jacket in Pale Pink and Ankle Skinny jeans in Pink Destroy are great as well. I think these colour shades are going to be hot for Spring!
Cuffing your jeans, usually an after thought for men. Most just do it at home to just lounge around. But just as I said in the jeans for guys tip, if you want to be ahead of the male trends, look at women. With the help of Katie Holmes, this trend took off for women. Designers fell for it and decided to style their denim with cuffs on the runways for Men’s Fashion Week. On the runways of C.P. Company, Michael Bastian, and Junya Watanabe the cuff was a prominent trend. But these aren’t the usual clean, crisp cuffs. These are more nautical, think cuffing your jeans before you walk on the beach, they shouldn’t be overworked. It is a laid-back look after all. So how many of you are planning on doing the cuff?
Are overalls the new spring/summer trend? These are a far cry from the Gap overall days! They seemed like a continuation from the romper trend, more nipped and couture-like. Collections like Ralph Lauren and Jean Paul Gaultier feature them. Overalls perpetually remind me of what I wore as a child or a farmer, a far cry from trendy and chic. Is there any way to wear them without looking frumpy? Overalls… yeah or nay?

Muubaa have released this leather shirt which looks like washed denim. It has a checked cotton lining and is light weight. Would you wear this shirt? I’ve never really heard of leather shirts, only vests and jackets. Do you think it would be comfortable? I get the impression it might be a bit suffocating and not very easy to move in…
