New Jeans Trends
With 70s styles like wide leg and flares making a comeback, it was only a matter of time before culottes did too. Culottes have been popping up in quite a few designers like Gucci, Valentino, and Tibi’s Spring collections. The updated version of the silhouette features a slim fit around the waist and cropped wide flare leg style, which makes them perfect for spring and summer.
For styling, culottes can be styled in a plethora of different ways, with flats, heels or wedges. But the key is to be mindful of the volume of the leg and wear more fitted pieces to keep the look from being too overwhelming. What do you think of the culotte trend, would you wear it? I could see both Alexa Chung and Kate Bosworth wearing this trend soon!
Digital Luxe Denim is a brand new concept from AG Adriano Goldschmied for Fall 2014. I saw the new jeans last week in London at the showroom and completely fell in love with them! I’m a huge fan of AG Jeans anyway, but this new idea is so inventive and innovative, I know it’s going to be a big hit.
DLD utilizes photocell printing to replicate the weathered appearance of lived in jeans on their luxuriously soft sateen. This means that they literally print a photo of distressed jeans onto a pair of plain jeans, creating what looks like a genuine pair of ripped and worn in jeans. As you can see from the photos, the print looks completely real and you wouldn’t know that they didn’t actually have rips in unless you felt them. The distressed areas are 3D and expertly done.
One of the best things about these jeans though is how soft they are, the sateen feels like silk and is incredibly stretchy, so you can’t get more perfect than that! Not only will you be able to pull your jeans on quickly without putting your foot through the rips, you can be in comfort all day and your legs wont get cold either! You can see the three washes available below. What do you think?
Distressed white jeans are a huge trend at the moment. Just about every brand is coming out with a pair. I think they are a great trend for the Summer. My favorites would have to be the ones by Rag & Bone and Paige, but there are a few that I also think are great. Check out some great ripped whites below.
Next to jump on the neon trend is 7 For All Mankind! They have their Skinny cut coming in Neon Pink, Neon Yellow and Neon Green. The yellow and the pink are already available for pre-order on Revolve Clothing but the green isn’t out yet.
I think Revolve found it quite hard to pick the colour up with their cameras, I know neons are hard to shoot correctly, but from what I have seen, the pink ones are not so red, they seem quite pink, a lot like a highlighter pen. When we announced this coming trend a few months ago, I was hoping that 7 For All Mankind would be close to releasing theirs! So how many of you are going to be wearing neon jeans? Pre-order these jeans online at Revolve here.
