The new skinny jean is something quite different. The Lattice Side skinny jeans looks like an ordinary pair of jeans but on the side it has cut out shapes. I think it’s a pretty unique idea and I think I like them. They would be cooler for the summer months and will definitely make an outfit different. Would you wear them?

Famed designer, Earl Pickens, who has designed for denim lables like Lee Cooper has designed the “Uri Pickens” line which will feature couture looks that have hefty, $2,500 price tags. Despite his new collection, Pickens is not a stranger to denim design. He also designed denim for Castelbajac, which was unable to survive the economic downturn after the September 11th terrorist attacks. However, Pickens describes his rational behind this couture price tag, “When Tom Ford did denim with floral, there was an explosion everywhere. Denim became luxurious,” Pickens said. “Then in 2000, along came rap and denim got huge, literally, the pants were huge. We want to make it a little bit luxurious, not in the five-pocket sense. The idea was a collection that’s tailored, with beautiful suits made in denim.”
Not only was he influenced by other designers but also chose the Bocage Avenir Couture and Vendée Couture to produce his line, which also works with names like Louis Vuitton and Hermes. His fabrics will come from the Japanese mill, Collect. The fabric’s tight weave was meant to protect and is used in firefighter’s uniforms in Japan.
The line iteself will feature cropped jackets, including a stretch denim one with what appears to be hand stitched detailing. The use of fabric is also unique, as he takes Chambray material and creates a denim suit. The jackets start at $900 and the pants at $700, but given the rich detailing, fabric and design, these peices will be truely unique. The pieces can be purchased online this fall.

Just when I thought they couldn’t possibly bring out anything else denim, they bring out denim track pants. I actually think I like these, they look pretty comfortable and very casual. Maybe they are here to replace the boyfriend fit for a more fitted casual jean? Diesel Joyze cut has been around for a few seasons but this is the first time I have ever paid attention to how it fits the model, I can’t say I have seen them worn this way before, now I know how they can look I am definitely tempted to buy some! We have Shirts, Leggings, Vests & Corsets, Jackets, Dresses, Jumpsuits & Playsuits, Denim on Denim… For me personally I think it’s Denim Leggings & Denim Vests, closely followed by Denim Shirts… It’s a tough call! So we started with leggings, then colourful printed leggings, then denim leggings and now printed colourful denim leggings. ASOS have released a pair of floral printed denim leggings and they are a best seller! They feature 2 back pockets just like a pair of jeans. I think they look pretty cute on the model. So Denim Leggings (Jeggings) have been around for a little while now but they taking brands by storm. I have fallen in love with a few pairs. They are making them just like jeans, with back pockets on and everything, even ankle zippers! The look of jeans but the comfort of leggings? Sounds pretty good to me! Beyonce has been seen in denim leggings. I personally own the Ichi denim leggings and they are hot! Also an up and coming new trend is shredded leggings. Much like the shredded denim trend, shredded leggings are becoming popular. Miley Cyrus has been seen wearing a pair. I’ve combined some of my favourite denim jeggings and shredded leggings. I actually really love the David Lerner shredded leggings, they are pretty hot and look really unique, I don’t know if I could pull them off though… Click the images to buy the items.

Denim Corsets and Denim Vests look pretty hot and are a great look for the summer. Current/Elliott, Mike & Chris, Lee and more, have brought out some pretty sexy looking styles. I hope we see this trend a lot more. My personal favourite so far is the Wrangler bleached halterneck vest, I love the lightness of the denim. Will you be rocking this style anytime soon?
