General Idea have come out with some new outerwear for Spring 2013 featuring denim elements as well as other fabrics. I have included 3 images, all of which contain the denim pieces, and I have included some text about the collection below. What do you think of the new styles? And guys, are you happier with more male orientated content as requested?
Designer Bumsuk Choi crafted a range of jackets and coats perfect for the cold transition period from now through early spring. Each piece blends sporty street style elements with innovative details, such as nontraditional fabrics and colors. One standout outerwear style from the collection is the fresh take on the baseball jacket.
Bright green camo prints add excitement to a light baseball jacket, while another is crafted out of an oversized plaid print and navy leather sleeves. The collection also offers a variety of unique coats, including an oversized coat made with denim and leather collar detail. The trench coat is updated with color-blocked fabrics, oversized pockets and arm logo details.
Rag & Bone have come out with two versions of their Jean Jackets for men. First is their popular leather sleeve version that they released in the Rock wash. Keeping the color of the denim similar to the leather, I find, makes it just as approachable to both a guy that loves his classics or one that loves to be bold and everyone in between.
If a leather sleeved style is still not your thing, they also have a classic version in their Harrow wash. The style is ready for you to wear as it is or break in and make your own with the addition of tonal stitching. Which do you prefer? Paige has released four new styles all with interesting zipper details. There is the Indio that has horizontal zips under the front pockets. With a similar aesthetic, she also has the Jane which have the addition of ankle zippers and comes in a midnight wash with a metallic cloud effect. Other styles including zippers are the Marley and Ziggy. The Marley has vertical welt pockets in the front as well as horizontal ones in the back, while the Ziggy features an ankle zipper in the front of the jean.
Which is your favorite new style and who would you like to see in them? Most importantly, how would you style these? All are very unique and different and refreshing to see from Paige. You can click here to purchase all these styles from Paige’s website.
I always get excited when Rag & Bone releases a new pair of jeans. They are always unique and never afraid to push the boundaries with their details. Like with these, they have taken their paneled jeans a bit further this season by adding some more futuristic racing details along the side of the jeans. The outcome after adding these new details is their new Halifox jeans.
My eyes widened when I first saw these while scrolling through Nordstroms. To me, they give off a Fifth Element, Aeon Flux vibe mixed with a bit of Tribal and racing. Even with all the details, the color palette makes them easy to style for everyday. I say with a simple green t shirt and some boots or sneakers, that’s all you would need to make these look great. What are your thoughts on them? Purchase a pair from Nordstroms here for $285.
