Diesel have began the re-launch of their female collections with the introduction of a completely new design team, headed up by ex Fashion East and NEWGEN designer Heikki Salonen. This global re-launch of Diesel female sees their collections being stripped of external branding, improved silhouettes which are more feminine and is a collection aimed at a new age group of Diesel females aged 25-35.
The collections are based on a modern day capsule female wardrobe, incorporating premium basics and key stand out pieces which work with, and interchange seamlessly to fit into any woman’s wardrobe. The collections going forward are about discovering the brand rather than it advertising itself through over design or being outwardly branded. This isn’t just about a one-off collection; it’s about building the foundations for a whole new approach to how women dress in Diesel.
I was a bit shocked by this at first since I know so many of us love Diesel just the way they are. I think the branding is what makes them popular because it’s not too over the top. I am sure people will like the new styles, which are going to be minimal, but I am not sure how you strong Diesel fans feel about the change? What do you think? As long as they don’t change the way the men’s look though, I think Diesel men’s jeans are one of the sexiest jeans a guy can wear personally. I’m going to see the new Diesel collections next week in London so it will be interesting to see how they look. Stay tuned for the images.
Looks like my wishes have been answered. Current/Elliott have come out with their Suede Leggings with POCKETS! I have been waiting for them to come out with a skinny pant made out of suede. They have a brown (above) and a black which you can see below. Now for some hope for a suede pair in black and navy with ankle-zippers. You can click here to purchase these pants at Singer22 for $885 and here for them in Black at ShopBop for $876.
Those weren’t the only new style that they released. Current/Elliott is always one to push the boundaries when it comes to the mainstream denim brands. While everyone is coming out with leather skinny/leggings, they took a step ahead and came out with leather flares. Below are the Current/Elliott Frontman Flared Leather Pants. I kind of like these. I wonder if they will come out with them in the array of colors like they did with their skinny leathers? I do think that we will be seeing these on some of the leather loving celebrities. What are your thoughts on them? Are they too much leather? You can click here to purchase these pants at Nordstroms for $925.
J Brand did not leave the men out when they launched their color collection. For Spring 2012 they have launched an array of colors for their popular fits like the Kane, Corporal, and Trooper. The colors are not limited either. They range from red to green to seafoam.
My favorites would have to be the Kanes in Bouy Red, Sage Green, and surprisingly the Trooper in Seafoam. I like that the color of the Seafoam is a mix of a slate gray and blue. I think they will be great for Spring. The Bouy Red is amazing, they are vibrant and bold, but they are not the red that will hurt your eyes. I can’t wait to see some of these on the celebrities. You can check out a few more of the washes below.
Earnest Sewn introduced some new twill jeans for their popular men’s fit, the Fulton. You can choose between the classic Fulton with the button-fly or the Fulton with a zipper-fly, which is a straight-leg fit. The material is a soft brushed twill that has some stretch to add some comfort and make them easier to move in. The washes range from earth tones to dusty black to navy. You can check out all of the washes below and click here to purchase these jeans at the EarnestSewn website.
Earnest Sewn is also launching a new Winston jean, a limited edition style for Fall. The Winston is a Relaxed Slim Slant Pocket Trouser with a Chino Back pocket and Turkish Stretch Twill. The jean is available in available in Moss, Shadow, Cayenne and Wheat.
