J Brand have re-invented their cargos to make them even more tough. If the Agnes and the Houlihans had a baby it would be the new Maverick pants. They come in two washes at the moment, The Vintage Black Widow, a washed out black, and Vintage Armadillo, a worn-in green wash.
The noticeable front zippers are not the only change from the Houlihans. The little detail is what really makes these a new style. The front pockets alone are different. Instead of the usual stitching under the waistband, these are pleated over to give a more trouser feel. The knee detailing is also different. These are rounded to contour the knee caps instead of just angled. The back pockets have also changed as well. These have welt pockets instead of the flap pockets of its parents. Stella McCartney’s resort collection was inspired by Hawaii, so it only makes sense to extend that to the denim portion of the collection. From far away, the denim from the collection almost looks like acid-wash or a dyeing technique, but on closer examination, the palm tree pattern can be seen.
I love how subtle it is! Stella explained her inspiration, “Denim is something that’s already ingrained in everyone’s wardrobe. So we played with it to give it a new twist.” The pieces retail for $995 (jacket) and $665 (jeans) and will be in stores in January.
Here is a look at the brand new Autumn/Winter 2011 G-Star Correct Line “Midnight Collection” and it’s now available in stores as well as on-line at shop.g-star.com. The annual collection features elegant, tailored evening wear with a distinctive G-Star twist.
Traditional pieces are updated in new silhouettes and modern fabrics offered in a color palette of black and rich blues, which hint at G-Star’s denim DNA. Highlights from the collection include the Double Blazer (left) and the Kalahari Dress (center), which was inspired by a NY RAW runway dress – easily taking you from runway to real life. So what do you think of the new collection?
I thought I was in love with the Elizabeth and James Diedrick Leather Pants in Sienna, but saw these and a new love affair happened. I just cannot stop staring at them. The webpage for them has been open ever since I saw them a few weeks back and still is. I just love the fit. The trouser style is just perfect. I also love the motorcycle quilting on the thigh. It is a piece that I would love to own, but they come with a hefty price-tag. So it will only be a dream for the time being. You can click here to purchase these pants at Blue & Cream for $1,015.
