The X-Over jeans by R13 has been a style that I always found unique and fresh. Not many, if any, brands have approached denim in such a forward way as R13 has. But being such a progressive style, they have kept the washes for the cut clean and classic. That story ends there.
With their wash, New Mended, the style has finally been given the same treatment as their other cuts. It has been given distressed areas along with being patched, which gives more of an ease from the smarter feeling that they felt before. What do you think of this new wash for the X-Overs? DL1961 have just launched their new Fall/Winter 2014 collection, showcasing sleek styles with their famous revolutionary DLX and dlpro technologies interpreted in sophisticated silhouettes and fabrics.
This season shows off some darker colours, like the Florence in Topeka and the Florence in Thornton (below), while they also utilized laser technology, eco-friendly dyes, American cotton and technologically advanced fibers to craft high performance denim and twills that never sag, bag or lose shape-no matter what. You can see a selection of the new styles in the gallery below and you can check out more of their collection online at their website.
You can expect some fine-tuned takes on the classic style, like a cropped version, the classic skinny and the popular Channel Seam that fit right in with the J. Crew aesthetic of classicism. With washes like a classic black and vintage inspired worn blue, I can only see these styles being a favorite amongst their fans. Check out the styles below and get ready to purchase a pair when they become available on J.Crew.
The Scotch & Soda team is excited to celebrate the Alchemy Blues Project with the launch of the limited edition jacket. The Alchemy Blues Project tells the story of four graphic designers whose lives evolve around their passion for denim and love for the city of Amsterdam.
Inspired by the theme: Alchemy, the designers customized five Japanese selvedge trucker jackets. Free to let go of the usual way of working but keeping in mind the four basic elements of alchemy- air, earth, wind and fire, the jackets were re-imagined into four individual style pieces. The fifth piece was created by the designers all together and went into production.
“The seasonal theme of the Amsterdams Blauw FW14 collection, Alchemy fitted perfectly with the idea of recreating our most authentic and humble selvedge jacket into a true collector’s item. Alchemists strive to turn base materials into something noble as silver and gold. We immediately saw the link with denim where we effortless transform a base material such as cotton into something as rich as a selvedge indigo fabric. Captivated by this idea we started creating”. Said Creative team at Scotch & Soda.
Limited to 250 pieces, the fifth jacket is available now in selected Scotch & Soda stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, UK, Italy, Sweden, USA and online, and retails for €349.95. Doesn’t it look really cool? I think the design pieces on it are really creative and fun! You can see more on the project online at their website by clicking here.
