With Earth Day coming up (22nd April), G-Star thought showcasing their Spring/Summer 2012 RAW Sustainable line with you would be a great idea, and I couldn’t agree more! As Earth Day celebrates the planet, G-Star’s line fits in perfectly because it offers sustainable fashionable denim focused pieces made with 100% organic cotton!
For Spring/Summer 2012 a ‘cruise voyage sustainable’ feel is expressed through the blend of naval, utility-wear influences and feminine elements. The highlights include the high-waist Navy Flare, Navy Short and Navy Pencil Skirt which you can see in the gallery below. They blend typical naval button rows at the front pockets with G-Star Elwood inspired 3D effects.
The G-Star RAW Sustainable products seek to minimize environmental impact without sacrificing style. The RAW Organic range items only use natural manufacturing processes, minimizing the need for pesticides and other pollutants. I’m glad more and more brands are doing their part in helping the planet. I think the collection is nice too, I like the hooded denim jacket with the lace tie at the neck line.
True Religion have a new collection called the Love and Haight collection which launched on their website and in stores a little while ago. The collection is inspired by San Francisco’s famed Haight-Ashbury district during the counterculture 1960’s.
It is made up of a variety of pieces including a patchwork bell bottom, floor length skirt and a cropped jacket in a variety of washes. Each of these are hand-crafted using reclaimed fabric for a unique one-of-a-kind look, while also featuring recycled tin hardware and is made entirely in the USA. The brand said that the collection is really strong and is a great representation of True Religion’s heritage.
I have included still life images and Spring/Summer 2012 campaign images that feature the product as well in the gallery below. What do you think of the new Love and Haight collection? Two of my most favorite things when it comes to jeans, black and distressed. When I saw these new Isabel Marant Zillah jeans I was really happy. The detail is just great. They are not heavy so they can easily be worn from day to day…at least I would.
I especially love the tearing at the waistband. I like that Isabel actually distressed the part of the jeans that many avoid. I also like how minimal the other distressing is throughout the jeans. One thing though that I would prefer is that they were hemmed, but that doesn’t bother me. I have had many pairs that I hacked off from the bottom. Plus they were shown cuffed on the runway, so they help give a thinner clean line. You can click here to purchase these jeans at Net-A-Porter for $515.
The new Spring collection by Textile Elizabeth and James has arrived at Singer22 and it includes my two favorite pieces. They have the studded Ruby shorts in Cosmic Rouge (above) and the Deb jeans in Cosmic Midnight. Both are tie-dyed and are perfect for when the weather heats up.
I find the shorts to be just amazing. Everything from the color chosen, to the studs and to the cut. They are just really cool. They are a great summer piece that I think many girls will love. You can click here to purchase these as well as the other great styles by Textile at Singer22.
