News is flying around the fashion world that Kate Bosworth, along with her stylist and Jewelmint partner Cher Coulter, will be launching their own denim line. I think this will be a great venture for both. With Kate being a style icon and Cher being one of the biggest names in the styling world, I am pretty sure the styles will be nothing less than great.

With the news being early on, there is no confirmation on whether it is a brand venture or another branch under the Beachmint franchise. If it is a Beachmint branch, my name will be first on that sign-up list. Are you excited to see what they come out with and will you sign up for a monthly membership of denim?

This Spring/Summer 2012 season, Shine is introducing their denim collection to the USA. The well known boutique on rue de Poitou has launched their own denim collection line! The collection will be available on Shopbop, Jill Roberts (LA), Kisan (NY) and many other specialty boutiques.

Shine has a range of pastel coloured denim, flares, skinny jeans and denim shirts. Each pair is made to fit the body and give a chic casual look. The gallery features a few of their best sellers below. The prices for the jeans are around $300, the shorts around $230 and the denim shirts are around $280.

Goldsign has launched a new line called Goldskin. The pieces of the clothing will be made in amazing suede. There will be a jacket, Denise (above), a baggy cuffed short, Faye, a mid-calf length skirt, Jane, and a cropped high-waisted skinny, Jenny.

I knew that suede was going to be the next big thing after leather. I am so happy to see that more brands are getting into the market. I can’t wait to see the rest of this collection.

Don’t Cry Baby is an Italian fashion brand with its head office in Milan and has been in business for two years. They just completed their Spring/Summer 2012 collection and you can see some of the styles in the gallery below. I actually really like this brand, they have fun washes and styles that look really nice.

The production is based in Italy within the Venice area, a region that has been made famous for its large concentration of denim “production companies” and also for the expertise that the area has. Their goal is to deliver a product with the finest denim whether it’s an Italian denim or Japanese twill. They believe that the authentic true denim in time only gets better with wash after wash or just the older and worn out it gets. They take pride in buying quality denim like the latest modal denim, or authentic denim, stretch, bi-stretch and all the latest denims that are exposed at the Paris trade shows. The washes are also produced in an environmentally friendly way.

The price range for these Don’t Cry Baby jeans is between €150 and €250. They have an average premium denim price point which I am glad about. They also mention that a lot of Italian celebrities are wearing their jeans. I also saw that the lovely Chiara from The Blonde Salad is a fan too! What do you think of the brand? Here is one of the videos to correspond with the highly anticipated Balmain diffusion line, Pierre Balmain. It holds the Balmain punk feel with all the zippers, tight fits, and slouchy tops. I think this collection will do well. I can’t wait to see the still pictures of the pieces. Scandinavian denim brand Cheap Monday is releasing a new denim collection. The collection, called “7 Days Jeans”, was released this month. Featuring offerings for both men and women. There are 7 different styles, each named after the 7 days of the week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday are styles mainly worn by men, while Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are more female focused. The styles are cut in 31 different washes, ranging from corduroy to bright colors.

The inspiration behind the brand  is all about simplicity, individuality and freedom in order to find a wash and fit that suits different personalities and types. Washborn Denim is a brand new denim brand which has just hit the US market! Known for its cutting edge designs, Korea is next on every trendsetters list of fashion destinations, so it’s no surprise runaway hit label Washborn hails from this innovative country. Polo Ralph Lauren has relaunched to become Ralph Lauren Corp. Under this new name the brand is launching a new denim and clothing line called Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren. The aim of the collection is to capture the character of vintage inspired items mixed with more eclectic pieces.

For women, the collection mixes feminine pieces with tougher utility looks, creating an overall bohemian vibe with a sexy edge.  The collection is highlighted by unique details such as metal work, beading and mended slashes for a down to earth denim vibe.

The men’s collection is an urban meets wilderness with an outdoorsy color scheme. The details such as rip and repaired jeans, and pieces like fleece pullovers, slouchy and knit cardigans, distressed denim jackets give the collection an effortlessly worn in aesthetic.
