STROM is a brand new premium denim collection that will be launching for Fall/Winter 2013! The brand was created by top Swedish model-turned fashion designer, Erika Stromqvist. She focused the collection on the silhouette of each style. Erika’s key styles for the season include a variety of crops, boyfriends, cigarettes and skinny silhouettes in vintage selvedge denim and a full range of novelty styles including the poppy, which features a long folded cuff that gives the illusion of a chic, skinny leg warmer.

“For me fashion and particularly denim is about feeling and looking good without trying too hard,” says Stromqvist. “STROM is
about the right attitude, understated and streamlined, to enhance your own personal style through my designs.”

Throughout her extensive modeling career Erika learned valuable knowledge about fit, technique, attitude and style from some of the industry’s top designers including Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs. This encompassed everything from inspiration boards and seasonal concepts to fittings, runway shows and advertising campaigns. From her early days in Sweden, to her vast portfolio of work in the fashion industry, Erika looks forward to launching STROM as a global brand.

Norman Russell Denim is an American-made premium selvedge denim brand for guys, with many great styles for those of you who are avid selvedge denim fans. Norman Russell was forged from the idea that jeans are a critical staple in your life and that the new age way of quick production isn’t necessarily better.

The idea for the brand was inspired by the owner Kortney Hastin’s grandfather, who was a boxer in the navy who meticulously cared for his jeans as a keystone of his wardrobe. Norman Russell is a modern denim brand that takes inspiration from the strength, durability and ruggedness of generations of denim manufacturing.

They have the Hammer Straight, the Fish Boot and the Cookie Slim, both in washes and in raw form as well as denim jackets and shirting. When I first found out about the brand last week, I was captivated by the really cool video titled ‘Find Your Journey’. It made me want to share it with you all and introduce you to the brand if you haven’t yet heard of it. I definitely recommend that you watch it just below as it’s really well done! I have also included some information on the three main cuts for you, so you can get an idea of how they fit. The jeans start at $250 for raw and upwards for washes and can be purchased at the Norman Russell website.

Public School has just announced the launch of Public School Denim, ‘a made-in-New York denim collection bringing NYC to the forefront of denim craftsmanship’. The collection is for the guys and they have some very detailed washes on offer, as well as numerous different fits which you can see in the gallery below. I have also included some text from the press release so you can get a good idea what the brand is about.

The collection aims to cater to the needs of the new generation of creativeʼs that yearn for cutting edge product with classic styling. Born and raised in New York City, Public School founders Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have joined forces with denim veteran Tobias Levine to create the new menʼs denim line. The 2013 denim collection presents a range of fabric treatments and silhouettes that are not normally associated with denim. The collection will consist mostly of rigid and raw materials, as well as washed and wet-process styles all manufactured in New York.

Pieced goods will be developed exclusively with denim supplier Cone Denim at White Oak Mills, while some other fine materials will hail from Japanese denim mill Kurabo, as well as various Italian denim mills, such as selvedge denim and wide width goods. In addition to three classic jean styles – Straight, Slim, and Skinny – the Public School Denim Collection will feature a slim pant silhouette, creating a rotating “fashion” fit for every season. The tailored set has innovative pieces like a candle-wax coated canvas jean that molds to your body as it heats and cools, and chronoline waxed finished denim, as well as classics like an indigo over-dyed slim fit, and raw basics. The opening prices range from $165 to $390 for the more fashionable styles.

There is a stylish new denim brand called Royal Spades coming onto the scene! It’s the first denim brand to be stocked in Wolf & Badger on Dover street in London and has a range of men’s and ladies jeans. Many different celebs attended the launch night, included some of the Made in Chelsea cast, singers, actors and models!

There is a new denim brand which just hit the market, named 15|FIFTEEN! It’s a great premium denim brand for young edgy women, and offers trendy and stylish jeans for the junior market at a reasonable price.

I’ve noticed a rise in premium denim for teens at the moment and I think it’s a really cool idea. Premium denim shouldn’t just be limited to adults, younger people can fall in love with it as well. I started at a young age (around 13-14) so having a new brand like this, with a much more affordable price tag, is a great option!

The colours and washes of these fits follow current contemporary trends, with options ranging from ombre with wax coating to various shades of lightly distressed denim and more. 15|FIFTEEN is also marked with a price ranging from $54-$89. I think that’s much more affordable for the younger readers who can’t afford the $180+ price tags. You can see some gallery images below of some of their styles. What do you think?

Recently the launch of a new denim brand took place, de Chemin jeans. We have already spotted a pair on Chloe Grace Moretz while Cher Lloyd was also seen wearing a pair of their camo jeans. Hopefully we get some more celeb sightings soon and the brand takes off! I have included a few pictures below in the gallery as well as some information from their press release. Born from the son of 70′s label Chemin de Fer, the collection is engineered to enhance the appearance of your bottom. Each pair is constructed employing more than twelve pattern pieces of engineered stretch fabrication. The clean lines are structured to contour and enhance the fit on the body. On the back of the jeans, there are strategically placed reverse yokes. The waistband is sculpted to frame your shape, and the detailing on the hips is inspired by aerodynamic design to lengthen the legs.

Iconic retro styling details of brass buttons are a nod to the 1970s legacy, while the non traditional bodies of de Chemin offer the market a fresh take on premium denim. de Chemin jeans are designed and produced in Los Angeles, California using the highest quality cone denim sourced from North Carolina. In French, de Chemin translates to the path, and Gaon’s American ingenuity has sparked a new and innovative journey of hand crafted denim.

Here is a closer look at the styles by Frame Denim. As you know it is a brand that I have quickly become fond of. The styles range from classic blues and blacks to cool slick colors all in a flattering classic skinny. As Frame says, “Frame was created for a confident woman who wears denim to frame her look and compliment her figure. The woman who is always searching for that pair of jeans that had their sense of paired down aesthetics, with an exemplary fit to match. The name FRAME is derived from our physical human form that FRAME is set to“.

The line has already become quite the popular with models such as Miranda Kerr, Anja Rubik, and Lara Stone. They have already showed their admiration about the brand on Twitter. You can read all about the brand on their site and see their styles below.

Koral Los Angeles is a new line of premium denim which has just became available in retailers nationwide. Koral is the highly anticipated brainchild of David Koral along with his father Peter and partner Rick Crane, who built the premium denim market as we know it today with the launch of 7 For All Mankind. Koral was created to get back to the essence of what makes a great pair of jeans – quality material, refined finishing and flawless fit.

The brand is making its debut with a women’s denim collection for Fall 2012, featuring its signature “Lived In Length” line and an assortment of fashion pieces including coated and tinted denim as well as a graphic colourblock collection. A men’s line will launch for Spring 2013 as well and the price point for Koral jeans will be between $160-$240.

The Koral Los Angeles collection features an array of premium denim fabrics, many of them exclusive to the brand, that convey its founders’ passion and skill. The design team worked tirelessly with some of the country’s most renowned laundries to perfect a hand processing technique that will give each pair of jeans a unique, 3D-­-like artisan effect, complementing its flawless fits.

Creative director Marc Atlan, who has worked with fashion houses including Comme des Garcons, Helmut Lang, Tom Ford, and Mason Martin Margiela, lends his sleek aesthetic as evident in the collection’s fine attention to detail.

I think some of the styles are absolutely amazing! The cuts look perfect fitting and the classic blues look pretty. I also love some of the fun pieces like the coated teal and other brightly coloured jeans. What do you think of the new brand Koral?

Here is a look at the new brand Dear John Denim. The brand carries the aesthetic of straight forward, classic denim at an affordable price. You can see the the clean silhouettes in classic washes and a closer view as well as on trend washes, such as color, below.

I can already see this brand being popular amongst the celebs. I can see someone like Jennifer Garner, Minka Kelly and Halle Berry wearing Dear John Denim. What are your thoughts on the new brand?

News is flying around the fashion world that Kate Bosworth, along with her stylist and Jewelmint partner Cher Coulter, will be launching their own denim line. I think this will be a great venture for both. With Kate being a style icon and Cher being one of the biggest names in the styling world, I am pretty sure the styles will be nothing less than great.

With the news being early on, there is no confirmation on whether it is a brand venture or another branch under the Beachmint franchise.
