Designer Jean Look Books
From fashion-forward cutting techniques and sexy silhouettes to technically fastidious laundering methods and artisan hand-finished details, JQ Jeans sets the benchmark for how their jeans are measured.
Formerly known as Jonny Q, the premium Made In Italy denim brand has recently enjoyed a strategic makeover following significant investment. As well as its abbreviated new brand name both JQ Jeans and its more directional sister brand SOS Jeans have upscaled their design division as well as their atelier workshop and laundry in Nereto, Italy, where each pair of JQ Jeans continues to be lovingly crafted by hand.
Since its inception in 1978, JQ Jeans has been defined by an obsessive dedication to inventive new pattern cutting techniques and form-fitting fabric developments to constantly challenge consumers’ perceptions of just how incredible a pair of jeans can make you look and feel.
Back in the late 1970’s JQ Jeans founder Pasquale Orza was the first to introduce stretch jeans to a disco-obsessed denim market clamoring to emulate the high-shine spray-on jeans championed by the likes of Olivia Newton John. Fast-forward 36 years and today the brand’s celebrity devotees include Victoria Beckham and Penelope Cruz with the brand stocked by the premier league of international womenswear boutiques and department stores.
No wonder then, that the world’s leading catwalk-led denim brands continue to call upon the JQ Jeans workshop and laundry when they start seeking the next big things in denim innovation. Or, that 36 years after the first collection was launched JQ Jeans remains the go-to denim brand for fit-obsessed buyers and continues to be sought out by the most recognisable A-list celebs and brand loyal devotees the world over. DUEL DENIM – The Modern Original – is a brand new denim brand that literally just made its debut last month. The details; The wrinkles; The hidden stories.
Born in Lancashire, the heart of the UK cotton industry, where factories once hummed with the sound of sewing machines, Duel Denim is a brand that looks to the future by respecting the past. The Modern Original.
United by a passion to design the perfect denim jean, the team behind Duel Denim has emerged from the embers of tradition; a rare breed of discerning artisans fighting back against uniformity and dedicated to their craft.
We duel for quality and craftsmanship. We believe stories are in the details and heritage is a beauty to us. We use knowledge passed down through generations, blending in our own taste and ways to create contradictions.
Launched in July 2014 at ‘Jacket Required’ – the UK’s leading trade show – the collection stood out on its own merits amongst the more established brands on show. Designed for both the spirited individual and the distinguished traditionalist, the range celebrates a blend of heritage with elements of modern design, quality fabrics and washes with real depth.
It’s true that beauty is only skin deep, but we also believe that skin is etched with history. Our jeans – they whisper hidden stories…..Look closer.
Duel Denim was set up in 2014 to appeal to the middle to premium denim market, priced at £70 to £90. They are currently working with independent retailers worldwide.
Here is the new Fall/Winter 2014 collection by NLST. Keeping in theme with what the brand is known for, military, the collection has a color palette of olive greens and khakis in cuts that are clean just like their uniforms.
Not only has the brand taken the theme of ‘Army’ to a level of chic, but they have ventured into the ‘Navy’. Just like Army, Navy was inspired by the clean lines of the military uniform that will elevate your wardrobe. You can check out the pieces from the amazing outerwear to the knits and probably the most comfortable looking cut of pants ever.
