Designer Jean Look Books
The Frankie B. girl is as tough as ever this season. For Fall 2013, there was no lack of studs, mesh inserts, prints and more. One commonality they all have is the classic Frankie B. cut, their signature ultra low rise that covers just enough to allow coverage without sacrificing the rock’n'roll vibe with a slight hint of boho.
New prints this season are their skyscraper prints of New York and Los Angeles as well as a combination pair of stars and stripes. Daniella Clarke was not shy when it came to studs either. You will find everything from jackets to jeans to my favorite piece, the denim skirt (photo 12), all covered in them. A new textile this season is leather because the denim is just not enough for the ‘Frankie B.’ girl anymore. See these styles and more in their look book below.
PRPS is a brand that is always strong, I believe, when it comes to their aesthetic. For the Fall 2013 season, PRPS kept to what they know best, the masculine woodsman. They are classic pieces that every man wants to wear, from the worn in washes to the cargo pants, there is no lack of masculinity.
This is the season that also marked the introduction of color in their collection. Sure to become staples in their customer’s closets, they have trousers ranging from their earthy color palettes to ones as bold as red. Which of these new styles are your favorites?
The new Goldsign embodies the innovation and sophistication the brand is known for. For Fall 2013, they continued focus on the decadence of the 1970’s from the Spring collection with a nod to the late 80’s.
Expect to see rich indigo and vintage washes, along with modern super stretch fabrics, paired with new laser technology in exciting processes. As prints are here to stay, Goldsign incorporated tonal suiting stripes, jacquard a la the 19th century and selvage tuxedo stripes, which have digital prints on soft cotton twill as the details are not classic indigo. You can see these styles as well as rich velveteen and corduroy styles in their look book below. Which pair do you like?
The counterpart to their new women’s Fall 2013 collection, Citizens of Humanity went classic for the men. Highly influenced by English classics with hints of military, Citizens used new techniques in their fabrics and design functionality.
Of those new techniques, the brand introduced its version of the herringbone selvedge in a rich charcoal hue among other colors such as hunter green and more. Along with this new fabric, the new collection also includes an array of raw and dry selvedge indigos. See the new lookbook below.
