When I saw the new Kanye West Fall/Winter collection, I thought, “Kanye really took his time this season and took his time micromanaging every aspect to make sure everything actually fit this time.” I thought it was a good idea. Now he proved that he is just not “Good Style,” but also has potential to actually be a force in the designing world.
The collection was true to Kanye. There was leather, fur, body-con, velvet, and a touch of avant garde throughout the collection. I think the shoes are pretty insane. My favorite pieces would have to be the jacket above and from look 18. Those are perfect jackets for when the cold hits again. You can see the full collection below.
The new Fall/Winter 2012 Givenchy collection went back to the classic Ricardo Tisci aesthetic of morbid and nocturnal. The makeup on the models was moody and dark compared to the previous sun kissed surfer themed collection from Spring.
Some pieces were reintroduced this season from the Pre-Fall collection, like the rain boots, color palette, and paneling. There is always something that will catch anyone’s eye from every Givenchy collection. I think that is what makes it so appealing. You can click through the collection below.
For Fall/Winter 2012, Haider Akermann sent down looks that were more structured than his previous, but still with the classic elements of sleek lines, luxurious fabrics, amazing color palettes, layering and belted.
What I love about Haider Ackermann’s designs is that they have depth. They are so clean cut that they make the simplicity of them admirable. They also flatter a woman’s body. I think these clothes are not made for just models. They are made for just women and to make them feel more confident when they wear the pieces. You can look through the collection below.
Here is the new Pierre Balmain Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Though lower priced, the fashion house did not shy away from the luxury, cool aesthetic that is well associated with the brand.
For this season, the pieces were more minimal than the previous. The silhouettes were slim and body-con, yet had an ease to them. There are many great pieces. The jackets, like always from Balmain and Pierre Balmain, were perfection. The studded one above is to die for. I am also lusting over the canvas jacket with the shearling collar for the men. There is another piece that I am quite fond of and that is the harem pants. You can see the collection below.
