Levi’s Fall/Winter 2012
Here are some key looks from the Levi’s Fall 2012 Global Collection Preview which was shown during New York Fashion Week. They are saying the event was a hybrid between custom-made vignettes featuring pinnacle products from the line and a runway show.
Celebrity fans including Maria Menounos, Brad Goreski, Harley Viera Newton, Theophilus London, Jessica White, Zachary Levi and Byrdie Bell all came out to celebrate the brand’s new global collection. I have also included some information from the press release below, so you can get a feel for the collection.
“Levi’s has always been about embracing the energy and events of our time. Today, fashion is more democratic and accessible than ever, making New York Fashion Week the perfect moment in time for the Levi’s brand to launch our first global collection,” said Len Peltier, Global Vice President of Creative Direction.
The Levi’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection is based on a more refined and tailored look, for both men and women. The designs were inspired by the idea of craftsmanship, honesty and authenticity – honoring tradition while defying convention, redefining the norm and re-crafting and re-creating iconic Levi’s styles.
Steeped in the authenticity and craftsmanship that the brand is known for, the collection is built around classic and refined styles with sharp clean aesthetics, which have been tailored to perfection.
The key trend for men this season is the tapered look, for a great flattering fit that sits just below the waist, is slouchy on the top and has a slim tailored leg.
For women, the key look for the season is the Bootcut Skinny, which the Levi’s brand has completely reinvented. No longer your mother’s bootcut denim, this season will see the launch of this new take on a classic – a sexy, modern skinny fit making you forever think differently about the bootcut.
As part of Levi Strauss & Co.’s profits through principles approach, sustainability is embedded throughout the collection with the use of Water.
Burberry Fall/Winter 2012
Here is a look at the new Burberry Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. For this season Christopher Bailey opted for more feminine silhouettes, which his designs were never anything like. When I mean feminine, I mean that these accentuate the curves this season. The looks can’t be super feminine though. Some of the looks had cargo pockets to help break up the feminine vibe.
The stripes trend carried on over from across the pond and landed on the Burberry catwalk as well. Many of the looks were belted, high-waisted, skirted, and had a ton of velvet. There was no sign of trousers this season. You can see the collection below.
Diesel Black Gold Fall/Winter 2012
Here are the key looks from the Diesel Black Gold Fall/Winter 2012 runway show at New York fashion week. Loads of celebs were also in attendance like Emmy Rossum, Theophilus London, Chelsea Tyler, Amber Le Bon, Mia Moretti, DJ Caitlin Moe, Harley Viera-Newton, Shenae Grimes, Karmin, Petra Nemcova, Ryan Korban.
I think they did a really good job with this collection. I love the orangey red colours mixed with the pinks. It’s a combination you wouldn’t think works, but it does. I have included some info on the collection for you below as well.
The flickering projector. The silvery light. The dramatic music. And the tingling of your spine! A vintage B-movie inspiration runs like a deliciously dark thread through the latest Diesel Black Gold collection. Scales and skins abound, reminding of the rock-chic heritage of the label, combined with graphic knits that provide an ironic pulp aesthetic.
Worried about jumping out of your skin? Not to worry – there are plenty of layers to protect you against the chill. And you’ll howl with delight at faux fur touches that turn wearers into cuddly werewolves.
Nothing is as it seems, as genders blur and merge into streetwise pieces that offer protection against the mysteries that lurk in the shadows of a nocturnal city.
Like all the best examples of the suspense genre, the collection weaves its effects from the unseen. Instead of pointing its camera directly at the subject, it works its magic with misdirection. These pieces are not elements of a disguise, they’re detailed and luxurious fashion items, comfortable and wearable, although not exactly conformist.
Above all, the collection has a sense of humour – a key element of the Diesel DNA – while adding a hint of danger to keep you on your toes. This isn’t just any cinematic shocker; rather a lush subterranean world of suave accents, red lips and temptingly pale necks.

Victoria by Victoria Beckham Fall/Winter 2012
I still get amazed at how much of a force Victoria Beckham has become in the fashion world as a designer. I love that she can show two different silhouettes for both of her lines and still have them look true to herself. I also like that she can show humorous prints and still have them feel like her.
For her Fall/Winter 2012 Victoria by Victoria Beckham collection, Victoria Beckham showed many classic shift silhouettes with fun and classic prints. I can see many young girls wearing this line, especially Alexa Chung. I can see her in Looks 8, 13 and the one above. You can see the collection below.
