Ahh… tattered denim. It is a true staple for the warmer weathers and on the runways of D&G. Designers Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana gave us looks to coincide with their Dolce and Gabbana collection. The looks of this collection are very “preppy in the park” like a disheveled Chuck Bass almost. Along with the tattered denim, models were also sent down the runway in patchwork denim and a pair of denim shorts. You can check out the denim looks below.
You can count on one design house to show denim for each collection… and that is DSquared2. They gave us many denim looks this season with amazing washes (which is always amazing each season). The look of this season is the complete opposite of the last. The models looked very clean cut and relaxed this time, instead of bloody and tattered. I find that designers Dean and Dan Caten never disappoint each season, you can always expect a great collection each time. You can check out the looks below.
Always a brand to show sleek clean lines for the men is Gucci. For this season for the men, Frida Giannini did not disappoint. She gave us looks of the jet setting men. The collection included denim in a variety. There were shirts, jeans and the trend of the moment, shorts. But I think Frida is taking another cue from the women and decided to cuff the shorts for the men this season. Will you male readers cuff your shorts? Or will you leave it to the ladies and stick to just cuffing the jeans? You can check out the looks below.
I don’t think that skinny jeans are going anywhere for the men. Versace showed denim in monochromatic shades for their most recent fashion show for the men. Designer Donnatella Versace gave us a very 80s Rockabilly vibe this show. Though she didn’t use the usual dark blue denim normally associated with the look. She gave us tie dyed, gray and even silver… and made it work. I think only one designer can get away of with pulling off a Rockabilly look with silver denim, and that is Donnatella.
