Dsquared² is always one to never skip out on denim and their Spring 2011 collection was no exception. They had some modern styles to choose from. They had denim shirts to cuffed jeans and boyfriend shorts. The collection seemed to have been inspired by the same summer vacation spots as the men’s, The Hamptons and Miami. I can see Serena from Gossip Girl wearing some of these looks in the summer episodes. You can check out the collection below.
Prints were all over the Just Cavalli show in Milan. That wasn’t the only statement either, denim made many appearances as well. He had every article of clothing you can think of made of denim. There were shirts, vest, jeans, skirts, jackets and more. The collection, of course took inspiration from the same time period as many other designers, the ’70s.
The inspiration was very literal here than many others. He adorned many of the pieces with patches, panels, and florals. But they weren’t just for the women. Roberto Cavalli also sent down some looks for the men that were also sanded and encrusted. You can check out the denim looks below.
D&G is always one to show denim in their line. They also showed tons of color, something that New York was definitely lacking and florals was a huge fixture in the show this season. They had the print in many lively colors such as lime green, pinks, reds, and yellow. The denim pieces of the collection consisted of some super wide-leg high-waisted jeans, a denim apron dress, and a blazer as well as a bag. They also featured a jacket with some denim piping.
I think this collection just oozes Spring. It just looks so cheerful, fun and easy. I find the styling of the show to be kind of hilarious. It looks to be inspired by Italian wine stompers or maybe jam makers. It makes me think of an I Love Lucy episode and if you’ve seen the show, you know what I’m talking about. You can check out some of the pieces from the collection below.
Ashlee Simpson has been making the rounds at New York Fashion Week. First she served as a model for sister, Jessica’s new denim line. More recently, she was snapped at Max Azria’s runway show. She walked the step and repeat, while posing for pictures with Max Azria.
Ashlee wore a pair of flared jeans, a leather jacket and leopard print heels. Ashlee’s jeans are by Levi’s. She’s been wearing a lot of the brand while in New York. While I think this outfit encapsulates Ashlee’s laid back rocker style, I don’t like it at all. I think it’s far too casual for Fashion Week and I don’t like the way her jeans fit her, they look like they’re falling off her tiny frame!
