Dots were in abundance at the men’s Fall/Winter 2014 Band of Outsiders collection. Whether it be jackets, scarves, or sweaters; there was no lack of the print this season. Designer Scott Sternberg didn’t just stop there. He also had ombre plentiful classic men’s prints like plaids and stripes.
Out of them all, the denim dotted suit above would be my favorite piece. When it comes to a denim suit, we have all been tarnished by the infamous one worn by Justin Timberlake, but Sternberg has showed that two things on opposite ends of the spectrum can work together with this one. You can see the full collection below.
For Fall/Winter 2014 Timo Weiland took inspiration from modern love. From the strategically placed stripes, muted, checker plaid patterns, leather detailing, and cool, complimenting colors to help bring the emotions of a New York weekend to life.
Corduroy was in abundance this season. Paired with alpaca wool, the pants felt smartened up as opposed to the usual casual feel that it gives off. You can see the amazing collection in full below. What do you think of it?
After being inspired by their hometown of Santa Cruz in Northern California, it was a natural progression for the Mulleavy sisters to move down to the southern region of the sunny state for their Spring 2014 Rodarte collection. Instead of the usual inspirations of surfers, skaters and the beach that is regularly associated with the region, the sisters opted for the normally untouched territory of East LA Chola style. The collection had the cohesive mix of the opulence, randomness and the tough concrete streetwear that is constantly seen on the streets of the area.
This is a collection that which at first look would have many question marks over peoples’ heads, but I have to say that I find it pretty genius. It was refreshing to see a collection that was inspired by something that is far from high fashion and usually ignored. Plus those shoes were a huge highlight for me this whole season at New York. I can already see Miley Cyrus swooning over this as well as mags choosing Candice Swanepoel as their model of choice to shoot these clothes on. See the full collection below.
