I now see what Olivier Rousteing is talking about when he said he was taking Balmain back to its couture days. The clothing now looks in harmony with the price range. I do miss all the rips, tears and endless amounts of denim, but couture is the soul of the brand so that is where it should be.

The 2012 Pre-Fall collection had tons of prints, color and of course the classic glitz. There was also no shortage of leather. I think the collection is really great. There are quite a few pieces that I find amazing. The leather pants above are just everything. Trouser pockets, check. Leather, check. Inseam-zipper and motorcycle stitching, double check. My other favorites would have to be the printed pajama pants, all the jackets, and the black long-sleeve dress. I love the graphic at the waist. I would love to see that dress on Zoe Saldana or Kate Bosworth. You can see the full collection below.

I have a huge love for olive green (the only color I actually wear other than blue jeans). So when I saw the new Fall 2012 Dior Homme collection I instantly fell for it. I never would have thought that I would love outerwear from another fashion house other than Burberry, but I do (I think it may be my love for the color palette).

The jackets are just perfect. The paneling, quilting, and color blocking is really amazing. That jacket above has to be my favorite piece from the collection. It is just everything, I think, even with all that detail it all works. I also like the fit of everything. They were slim, but there was still some bag to them. They didn’t look so severe which I liked. This collection to me is an overall success. You can click through some of the looks below.

I love Marni! I cannot say how much. Every time I see a sweater by them I am just in awe. They make such quirky printed sweaters that I just love. I cannot wait for the H&M collaboration to come out. The sweaters are just to die for.

The Fall 2012 men’s collection had the classic Marni minimal quirkiness. The quirks were in the prints as usual. There was paneling, hamster fur scarves and jackets. It’s all just amazing. I would want every single piece. You can check out the collection below.

Whenever I see Givenchy each season, the first thing that pops into my head is the song The Double by We Fell to Earth. The dark theological theme each season just goes well with the melancholic vibe of the song, in my opinion.

For this season, the theme was still as prominent as in the previous ones. He incorporated the theme into his other inspirations of Minotaurs and Americana (hence all the stars and stripes). Ricardo Tisci does such a great job incorporating the theme with other inspirations, they never look confused or that they are clashing. The bomber jackets are great. I also love all the denim this season (something that is rare from such a high fashion men’s brand from Paris). There was also no shortage of kilts this season just like the other ones. I am pretty obsessed with the Dries Van Noten Fall 2012 collection. He just comes out with one of the best prints for men each season. For this season, he went for a more psychedelic print opposed to the stripes from the previous (which I still lust over).

I just love this collection. I would wear the look above in a second. I would switch out the turtleneck for just a slouchy white tee. The jacket and pants are what I love the most about that look. You can check out the many printed items by Dries below.

Celine coats are always perfect, in my opinion, and the Pre-Fall 2012 collection was full of coats that were nothing less. I love how sleek this collection is. I also like the over-sized fits. They were big, but they were tailored so well that they work. That jumpsuit above is just breathtaking.

Phoebe Philo is a master at paneling. Those button-ups are also amazing. I love that they are brown and white this season. The fur jacket with the teal bib detail is a great one. I will say though that I am surprised to see fur. I didn’t think that Philo would ever feature fur being that she said she would not use it. Other than that mishap, the collection is just so amazingly sleek.

The Diesel Black Gold menswear collection walked the runway in Milan, Italy yesterday with a celebrity front row. A-list Actors Stephen Dorff and Luke Evans were among those taking the front row seats and looked amazing.

The new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection from the brand was filled with metallics, suiting, velvet and of course, leather. It wouldn’t be a Diesel Black Gold show without the leather! The colour palette for the runway show consisted of dark shades in black, navy, purples and browns, but they also had brights in the shades of red, orange and blue. What I love most about Diesel Black Gold is that the clothes are very unisex, they also featured a female model wearing some of the new styles. A dreamer, a biker, a fighting musician in a life of perpetual movement across situations and frontiers. Diesel Black Gold FW’12 collection harkens back to Diesel’s roots, emphasizing and expressing the free soul of this metropolitan hero with military construction and vintage biker looks.

G arments are challenging yet classic – an entertaining clash of styles. Key items include stretch velvet suits, pony skin peacots, bomber jackets combining leather and felt through needle punch. Leather is crucial and it’s combined also with knitwear.

L oose fit and high waist pants are matched with super light & shiny nylon trench with metallic details; utility elements give garments a dynamic yet though feeling, such as the 3-D effect on knitwear. Seventies cuts are the last touch for the Diesel Black Gold contemporary man, who doesn’t forget his being a modern dandy looking for sophisticated treatments.

C olor palette ranges from black and anthracite to navy blue, tobacco, eggplant and brilliant red. Denim has its own space with 5 pockets fully hand-crafted in Okayama and Los Angeles with a traditional process, to express the real vintage look. The jeans lover will find also coated denim, or thermo-tape and flock details providing an alternative, “rock-chic” elegance to casual attires.

When I saw the new Jil Sander Fall 2012 men’s collection, I got a bit scared. Not from all the leather. It’s more shocking to see a plain white tee walk down than seeing leather walk down the men’s catwalks nowadays. This collection made me think of Christian Bale in American Psycho. I can just see Patrick Bateman wearing some of these suits in the film.

The collection started off a bit dark with all the leather and black. Then it got a bit humorous, in a good way, with the printed sweaters. The whale one is just perfect. You can see some looks from the collection below.

It’s that time again for the men, Fashion Week for the Fall 2012 collections. Burberry is one of my highlights each season for both the men and women collections.

This season was inspired by old Sherlock Holmes series. It is probably one of the dandiest collections that you’ll see. Newsboy caps, slim suits, and velvet. Christopher Bailey made sure that the collection didn’t look dated either. He incorporated fisherman jackets to keep it looking from this decade. Everything about this collection is perfect. Dolce & Gabbana brought back their silk pajamas for their new men’s Fall 2012 collection. I have to say that I was a huge fan of them and I’m happy to see them again this season. The one above would have to be my favorite. That whole look is just perfect. If I had it, I would probably be running some quick errands in it. If not the whole look, probably each piece separately.

I will admit that the Napoleon inspired print on the jackets and sweaters can be a bit much on some of the looks, but I did think that it worked really well on the varsity jacket, the one above and a few of the sweaters. The collection had the classic Dolce & Gabbana Oliver Twist vibe to it. Though this season the pants and jeans had a lower drop-crotch than usual. There was also their classic heavy knits and newsboy caps (those seem to be a mini-trend this season for the men). You can see a few of the looks below.
