Women, for many years, have worn men’s clothing. So is it time for the men to start raiding the section of the other sex? More frequently I have been reading and noticing more men being less shy of wearing women’s clothes. For example Kanye West, he famously wore a Celine shirt from the Spring 2011 collection. Before that he wore a shirt from Phillip Lim’s women’s collection to attend his show. Then there is DJ Cassidy who recently opened up about being fond over the women’s accessories section at Intermix. As the saying goes “If the shoe fits, wear it.” So how many of you guys are going to stop limiting yourselves to what you like?
I got to take part (representing DenimBlog) in the Hudson Jeans Breast Cancer Research Foundation campaign to help promote awareness. Hudson have been including their blogger friends in the campaign so we can all help spread the word about the foundation. They sent over a white board to all of us and we had to write ‘I Choose…’ followed by how we feel about it. I chose to write ‘I Choose To Fight For Life’ because life is important and you need to fight for it. Having the willpower and drive to fight and carry on in life is always something that helps, in my opinion. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a foundation I feel strongly about and I am glad I got to take part in spreading awareness.
Hudson wanted us all to wear a pair of Hudson Jeans for the photos and I chose the Nico skinny jeans in Chelsea which I love, you can read my review on them here. Hudson will actually be giving $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every jean bought on the Hudson website, www.hudsonjeans.com. So all of you can help support the foundation by buying a pair of Hudson Jeans! The pictures and the campaign are actually on the home page of the website too.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation┬« was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. In October 2011, BCRF will award $36.5 million to 186 scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and China. Currently, more than 90 cents of every dollar donated is directed to breast cancer research and awareness programs. With exceptionally low administrative costs, BCRF continues to be one of the most efficient organizations in the country and is designated an “A+” charity by The American Institute of Philanthropy, the only cancer organization to achieve this. For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org.
Another great thread that is popular on the DenimBlog forum/community is the ‘What Did You Buy Today?’ thread which lets members post and show photos of the things they have bought. It’s always fun to share your new purchases with other denim addicts and also show your non denim purchases. You can see what sort of things the other members like and get ideas as to what other denim fans are interested in.
