Trend Alert: Camouflage
Textile Elizabeth and James Cooper Jeans in Army Camo, SINGER22; $228
The camouflage trend has been trickling in little by little the past couple of seasons, but this season it is hitting full force. Just because they are a print, it doesn’t mean they are lacking in details either. Brands such as Textile Elizabeth and James and Current/Elliott have incorporated zippers while April, May included seaming details. If you are looking for just a classic skinny in the print, they also have that.
The cool thing about this trend is that it is not limited to just jeans. Current/Elliott has also released their Biker Jacket in a denim camo that you can pair with any of your lightweight dress or even some jeans for the double denim look. There is also no limitation when it comes to color. Along with the classic fatigue green, brands such as Zara and Textile Elizabeth and James have also come out with pairs in blue as well as black and white. Which one’s do you fancy the most? You can see all of the styles and where to buy them below.
Current/Elliott Multi Zip Stiletto in Grey Camo, Shopbop; $218
Washed Out From SSENSE
SSENSE is featuring a new editorial series on their website, and this week is all about the washed out trend for Fall 2012. Denim, sneakers, and knits are offered in distressed and washed finishes that represent the carefree style that was popularized by the grunge trend in the early 90′s. They also have acid-washed loose fitting knits from Alexander Wang and stained band t-shirts from Diesel and Dsquared2, which show off this trend in full force. Heavily worn and distressed Golden Goose sneakers and slim cut destroyed Balmain biker jeans, represent a lived-in spirit which also abides by the trend.
The same feeling is applied to the heritage pieces; like the worn in distressed leather mountain boots from Diemme and Golden Goose, the distressed leather belts and bracelets from Dsquared2, alongside paint-splattered bullet-holed denim from McQ Alexander McQueen, which add character to already timeless styles. Orlebar Brown, Pierre Balmain, Dsquared2 and Nudie Jeans offer a more subtle take with light distressing across their five-pocket jeans, denim jackets and classic crew neck t-shirts. You can see a couple of denim images from the washed out trend here in this post, including the Dsquared2 Slim Navy Revolution jeans, and you can see the series online at SSENSE.
