Designer Jeans reviews
AGOLDE would have to be one of my favorite brands and I was excited to try out a pair to review. I chose their Skinny in Black as though they are just a standard black wash, jeans do change from brand to brand. These jeans are no different, but I didn’t expect anything less than a great pair by the brand.
I went for a size 28 in these, which is usually my standard size in men’s. I would say that they started off a little tight, but as I wore them, they did start to give a little and I am sure that they will stretch to fit me. Most aren’t into the idea of stretching to fit, but I feel with men’s jeans this is the perfect way to find the perfect fit that still feels fitted without bagging after being worn in.
The fit of these is classic. For me personally, they are slightly baggier in the leg than I prefer, but they are ones that many guys will love as they aren’t super skinny on the leg. They are a fitted style that though bigger on me will fit slim on others like the photo above. There is also a stack or two on me, but nothing to merit cuffing them due to it being long.
The denim used is soft against the skin, which is great and there is still some stiffness to them as they only have 1% stretch to the denim. Though low in stretch, they so still have some give which allows movement. The quality of the denim is also great, especially for the price point. They feel like they have a lot of mileage to them that I think many guys look for in their jeans.
Overall, these are a great pair to try out if you are still looking for that perfect black pair of jeans. They are clean, which many guys look for, and they have a good fit with a great feel to them that will make you want to wear them day-to-day. You can click here to purchase these jeans from REVOLVE.
My review this month is going to be on the Rag & Bone Fit 1 in Waterloo. Ever since I first saw these, I instantly wanted to try them out. They are one of the best blues that I have seen in a while because there is great detail to them that feels authentic and only adds to their appeal. Definitely a pair that I could not be more proud of hitting the market.
To start, I took these in my usual size 28. I didn’t realize that they were button-fly at first, so I was a bit hesitant at first as button-fly do tend to run smaller. These though, fit just like a pair with a zipper-fly. That’s something that I love about Rag & Bone is their consistency with their jeans regardless of details.
The legs are cut pretty slim and I would say they are on the slimmer side of a straight leg cut. These also have a lower rise than expected for men’s jeans, which I actually am a fan of because it adds to the edgy appeal of the jeans. They aren’t a women’s low, but low enough to have a modern fit that works well with the vintage feel of the wash. Though I am someone that does like stacking on their jeans, these are just a tad short for me at 32″. There is some stacking, but I personally would prefer them to have a bit more length to them.
What surprises me the most about these jeans was the fabrication. They have a really soft hand and quite a bit of stretch to them. I was not expecting this at all as they look like a washed pair of rigid denim. This definitely gets a thumbs up from me as they feel as though they are a pair of sweatpants and can be worn all day. The wash is my favorite part. I first saw these on Justin Theroux and just instantly fell in love them because of light blue and repaired detailing.
These have a sandy blue wash to them that for the most part is great on its own, but Rag & Bone took it up another level and added some distressing. Clean distressing that complements the wash really well. There are slash knees and repaired tears at the upper inner thighs at both the front and back of the jeans. These are actual repair detailing as they have denim patches underneath as reinforcement. So there is no fear of them opening up as you move around.
Overall, if you are looking for a really comfortable pair of distressed jeans, these are the ones to get. They have a great fit that will look great on many body types and they feel fresh from the other distressed styles out for men right now. I definitely recommend these. My next review will be on the Paige Verdugo Ultra in Joannie Destructed. These jeans were such a pleasant surprise when I first got them and quickly became one of, if not, my daily pairs as I have been wearing them mostly since I got them.
To start off, I got these in my usual size 27. When I first held them up they looked as though they were going to be small, but I was proven wrong. They zipped and buttoned up without any force, which just made them even more better.
The cut was probably the biggest surprise for me as the full name for the cut is ‘Verdugo Ultra Skinny.’ My initial thought was that they were going to be tight all the way down the ankles on me. Once again I was proven wrong and they have a unisex fit that is just absolutely amazing. The hem opening is not too small and is proportional to the width of the stacking that they have with me.
The back pocket is classic Paige. The pockets are perfectly proportioned and positioned. They also hold my wallet without any peeking, which is something that is usually difficult to find when buying women’s jeans for a guy. The length is perfect for myself at 30″. They stack up just enough and aren’t bulky at the ankles.
The fabric used is just amazing. They have to be one of the most comfortable jeans that I have ever worn. They are a super supple stretch denim that does not lose its shape. It also hugs my legs, but doesn’t have a suffocating feel.
The wash of these have been something that I have been looking for for quite some time now. They have a washed black wash that is not quite charcoal nor a complete black. They feel as though they are a pair that you washed out yourself. It is one that is versatile and easy to pair with anything. The distressing is something that just helps elevate the wash in such a simple way. The jeans have three slits on the knees, one on the left and two on the right. It’s a simple and clean detailing that helps keep the versatility of them. Even though the rips don’t fall on the spots that they should and fall just an inch or two lower than intended, they are still placed in spots that even when they are lower, they still work to give the same vibe.
Overall, if you are looking for a simple distressed pair of jeans, these are ones to try out. They are a pair of jeans that I absolutely recommend for whether you are a guy or girl. They are just a great pair to own as the comfort alone will keep you pulling them out everyday and hoping they come out with a non-distressed pair like I have.
