Designer Jeans reviews
This weeks review is on a different pair of jeans, INDI Custom Denim jeans. I made these jeans on their website a few weeks ago and it was a really fun process.
First you start out by choosing the type of fit you would like for your jeans which then takes you to the builder page where you get to select everything else. There are 5 different medium to dark washes to choose from and 2 different fabric weights. Then you get to select the colour of the stitching you want, the rise, zipper or button fly, what sort of leg opening you would prefer, the hem stitching size and whether or not you want a coin pocket and then you go on to select what sort of pockets you would like and if you want any embroidery on the back pockets. You then finally go on to the measurements section where you type your height, weight, inseam, size etc and it will calculate your perfect fit. The jeans then go on to be made to your specifics at the factory.
I think it’s a really cool process and worth the time to put all of those details in. I normally have the issue of having the jeans too tight in the waist and loose in the thighs but these have the perfect ratio for the thighs and the waist. I selected the super low rise which is a pretty standard low rise of around about 7″ and I selected skinny which turns out to be a regular skinny of a 12″ opening. The inseam also fits me perfectly. I do quite like the idea of making custom jeans as you can get the fit perfect for yourself, I just wish you had the option to design the pockets exactly how you want them, including measurements, shape and positioning. The only point I can make about these is that the pockets are just slightly off from the position I normally like them and I find the shape of them to be a bit too long and narrow for me, but that’s just my personal preference as I am extremely fussy when it comes to jeans and getting a perfect fit. These pockets are a pretty standard pocket so it seems like they would suit most people.
I’m pretty sure I selected the medium indigo with distressing wash and it turned out to be quite pretty in real life, it’s got some depth to it and subtle whiskering. It is light weight fabric so it’s quite comfortable as well. I definitely think this would be something you should try if you can’t find jeans to fit you correctly, I know a lot of you get gaping in the waist or the thighs are just way too tight in regular premium jeans or there is not enough room in the butt etc. We all have different body shapes and that’s what I like most about INDI Custom Denim, they give you the chance to create a jean just for you. One that will fit you how you want them to fit so you don’t have to put up with ill fitting jeans. You can start creating your own jeans here.
We are also running a contest right now where you could WIN a FREE pair of INDI Custom Jeans! It’s free to enter and really easy! Just click here to see the details on how to be in with the chance of winning!

So I announced to you the Paige Premium and Lorna Collaboration jeans last week, which you can see here if you missed it, and now here are the modelled photos I promised you all. This paticular pair is a bit too big on me so I cuffed them to make them fit a bit more like boyfriend jeans. They don’t come with a cuff, they are full length originally but I feel they suit me better with the cuff. They do run a little bit bigger than most Paige jeans as these are a 28 and I definitely need a 27 in them.
There is now only one size left, size 30, and they have very little stock for that size. They have sold out pretty quickly so thank you to all of you who bought them and love the jeans! I just can’t wait to share with you the other cuts in a couple of months! Let me know if you have any questions about this pair, I will be sure to answer.
I have been wearing these so much lately, they are extremely soft and so comfortable. The fabric is a mix of cotton/elasterell/spandex so you can imagine just how flexible and soft it feels. The Lorna wash has a chalky effect to it, so in some lights it’s lighter and in others it’s darker, it definitely has a lot of character to it. The double back pocket is also really different to most jeans, I haven’t come across a pair with back pockets like this before actually. The front pockets are slanted too to give more of a trouser look. Buy these jeans here online exclusively at Selfridges or exclusively in store at London Selfridges only. They only have size 30 left to buy online with low stock but they have all sizes except 27 and 29 to buy in store.

This weeks review is on a brand I had never tried before, until now. G Star sent me the Fender Skinny Spark Denim jeans in 3D Aged. I never really thought I would like the brand because they are quite heavily branded and I prefer my jeans more subtle and plain, but I was definitely suprised with how well they fitted and how nice the wash was.
The fit of these jeans is a very skinny, low/normal rised jean with a thicker waistband. The back pockets have zippers with tassels at the top, just like I am used to with some Diesel jeans and other brands, and they are not too skinny like most of the leggings I wear. I always like the look of zippers on the back pockets because I find they accentuate the butt more and highlight the right areas to be flattering. This pair definitely does that! The back pockets also have the classic G-Star embroidery and they have the little G-Star patches and branding on the sides at the front. I normally always wear longer t-shirts so that isn’t too much of a bother to me.
I do like the fit of these too, I definitely find them slimming and a good fit on the butt and legs. It’s always risky for me trying new brands because the cut can often be too big in my legs, but these fit perfectly. I took a size 27 as I seem to be fitting that size more now and they fit just right. Since I have never tried the brand before though, I am unsure if they are true to size for them. They definitely seem quite true to size, maybe a small bit on the big side in comparison to other denim brands though.
The wash of these jeans is called 3D Aged and it’s a coated/waxed very dark blue, almost black shade on a fabric called Spark Denim. I’m assuming it’s named Spark Denim because it’s coated to look shiny. I have been into waxed and leather look denim for a long time now so I was excited to put this pair on because I loved the look of the wash. I also find really dark blues and blacks to be the most slimming shades of denim anyway, so adding a coated look to this pair just makes them more fun and more in depth. They are not the regular plain washed jeans you normally see. I definitely love this wash, it’s also not itchy like most waxed jeans can be, it’s made with cotton, polymide and elastane and it’s a 3×1 right hand twill 11 oz fabric which has been ring spun.
Overall, if you are a fan of the brand then I think this is a must have pair for you because they seem like a classic with great characteristics. If you are new to the brand like I was, then I also think this is a good pair to try, I’m really pleased I got these because of how pretty they are and they are very versatile and easy to pair with other clothes. I’m happy to finally add a pair of G-Star jeans to my ever growing collection! Buy them here at I Love Bastille for $220.
This weeks review is on the long awaited James Jeans Moto Jeans in Black Out. As you know I have been a fan of these jeans since I saw them on Nicky Hilton quite a while ago. I was gutted I couldn’t find them in my size anywhere but then a lovely reader said they were on Bluefly so I managed to get them from there. International shipping always takes so long though but I finally have them and I am in love! It was windy and raining a bit again so you will have to excuse my hair in this one, ha ha.
The thing that makes me love these jeans a lot is that the moto stitching is only on the front, so bending and sitting down isn’t uncomfortable and tight on the back of my knees. Normally I think that moto jeans don’t look so good with only the biker print on the front but these are en exception. I love that the stitching goes up really high, past the mid thigh, that definitely adds something extra to the jeans which makes them stand out. This moto stitching is actually my favourite I have seen on any jeans, from all brands. It’s just perfectly done and looks really really good! Well maybe second to Balmain!
The fit of these is exactly like the Twiggy fit from the brand, they are super skinny and really stretchy as well as being incredibly comfortable and flattering. With James Jeans I always find that they elongate your legs so much, they just add inches and make your legs looks slimmer in my opinion. I don’t know how they do it but they do! The pockets on the back are also one of the most flattering, they are perfectly positioned in the center but not too far from the middle seam so they really flatter your butt. These do run a little small as I did some research and sized up to a 28 for a more comfortable fit, I’m sure I could do a 27 which is my normal James Jeans size but I find with the moto stitching can get quite uncomfortable when worn too tight. These also have quite a high rise of 8 inches but I always wear longer tops to cover that. The inseam I thought would be too long because they seem to fit Nicky perfectly but it’s actually just the right length!
The wash of these jeans is also just perfect! It’s black but it’s so washed out that you can still see your body shape and figure through it, it doesn’t hide and disguise so it makes them more real. It’s faded in the right places to enhance areas like your butt and the front of your legs as well to really give you a shape. It’s definitely not the typical faded blacks you see normally and I also think it’s the best shade for a moto jean!
These jeans have since transitioned into James Jeans other line, James Icon, and they will be released in more washes like pale pink, bronze, green and grey as I mentioned before in the Look Book post a couple of weeks ago. I still think the Black Out featured here is the best colour though. I would absolutely recommend these jeans to anyone who loves skinny jeans and the moto trend, they are the perfect combination and so comfortable! Buy these jeans in the sale at Bluefly for only $79.99. They are beyond worth the money!
