Denim Review: Paige Premium Edgemont in Super Rebellious
This weeks review is on a brand new pair of Paige Premium jeans, the Edgemont skinny jeans in Super Rebellious. These jeans are a new take on Paige’s classic skinny jean, she’s added some really cool details to them and made a normal jean really fun and sexy!
The fit of these jeans is just like all of Paige’s other 12″ Skyline jeans, it fits just the same except these have the 2 diagonal zippers at each side of the hips. These are amazing and I think they add so much life to the jeans, they really make an ordinary jean stand out. I think they give a certain sex appeal to the jeans as well, there is something about the zippers which add a sexiness to the overall jean, especially if you wear them with heels, I don’t think these would look all that good with flats purely because the thick zippers at the hips gives the illusion that you have shorter legs. Well, they did for me because my legs are not that long, so definitely pair them with heels and they look great! I took a size 27 in these which seems to be my new Paige size, I think her jeans are running slightly bigger than previous seasons at the moment.
When I first saw the Edgemont at the press day earlier in the year, I knew it was going to be amazing! I saw it in a berry colour and it was so beautiful! I still love the berry colour but I don’t think it’s getting released unfortunately. This wash is the Super Rebellious wash and it reminds me a lot of the McKinley wash which is a classic of Paige’s. It’s a beautiful and rich dark blue with subtle lighter tones down the front of the legs to give some life to the jeans. I think the new Edgemont style, having the zippers, really pairs well with this dark wash. It makes them more easy to wear and more suitable for other occasions. Even though they are quite out there compared to a classic and plain jean, these are still versatile due to the wash. I love that about them!
Obviously these jeans are incredibly flattering on the butt, as are all Paige jeans, you will know if you are a fan of the brand! This pair doesn’t have the signature curved line of stitching on each back pocket though, these are plain which I think makes them a little more different too. The lining is also funky! It’s a different type of lining to the flowers Paige usually uses, it’s more quirky and I love it!
Also, even though these have 30% polyester in them, they don’t irritate me. I’m always irritated by polyester, it makes my skin itch and feel horrible because I have super sensitive skin, but these don’t. I think it’s purely because they are a thicker and sturdier denim which is not scratchy at all, it’s really soft and it doesn’t even feel like it has polyester in it. Sometimes when you try a pair of jeans and you can feel they are rough and a bit scratchy, you know they will itch. These are really soft and I think the amount of cotton in them hides the feel of the polyester well. I never thought I would say that! These are a jean with polyester in that I can actually tolerate!
I would definitely say give these jeans a go if you can afford the $259 price tag, they are definitely different and I love them. I think Paige should release these in the ankle peg skinnies as well, these were a little long on me so I had to bunch tuck the hems a bit. (I plan on making a video to show you how to do this soon actually). I would also love them in the Verdugo jegging, that would be fantastic! I hope Paige keeps this style as part of her collection for next season too. Buy these jeans at PaigeUSA for $259.

Denim Review: 7 For All Mankind Gwenevere in Zuma Sunrise
This weeks denim review is on a pair of 7 For All Mankind Gwenevere skinny jeans in Zuma Sunrise which I got sent from the brand. These actually remind me a lot of the slashed knee ones I reviewed late last year but without the rips so they are more versatile.
I think it’s actually impossible for me to pick what my favourite part of these jeans is, I love everything about them. There isn’t one thing that I don’t like. They are very versatile in the sense they go with everything and you can style them however you want to, I cuffed these for the review so I could make it a little different to the other 7 For All Mankind reviews I have done. I find they can look more casual if you roll the hems a bit and pair them with wedges or heels but if you keep them full length you can dress them up a bit. I love wearing my jeans cuffed or rolled at the moment, I got a bit bored of wearing them full length all the time and it makes a nice change to my outfits when I go out.
The Gwenevere fit is my favourite fit from the brand actually, it’s a perfect skinny jean. It has a lower rise and the inseam is around 30 inches which is perfect for me and those of us who have shorter legs. These are the 2 reasons that the Gwenevere is my preferred skinny from them. The others have higher rises and longer inseams which just don’t work all that well for me. The pocket placement on these is absolutely perfect as well, just as you would expect from one of the leading premium denim brands. They are in the right place to give you that pert butt look and to also be really flattering. I took these in a size 27 which is my normal 7 For All Mankind size so I think it’s safe to say they run true to size.
The Zuma Sunrise wash is amazing too! I thought the name was incredibly cute and it does remind me of Gwen Stefani since her son is called Zuma, ha ha. It’s a perfect shade of mid to light blue with subtle whiskering at the lap area and the right amount of fading down the legs to make them look slim and the perfect lighter shade on the butt to give your butt a rounded appearance. The other thing I love about this wash is that they chose blue stitching for the jeans, they got that spot on! If they had picked the classic orange thread then it would have ruined these jeans in my opinion, the blue keeps the tone just right and makes these jeans special.
The fabric is also incredibly soft and very stretchy so they are extremely comfortable to wear, it’s easy to spend a whole day wearing them and not feel uncomfortable. I can tell that I love these jeans because I have worn them about 4 times in two weeks and that’s a lot for me, they have been the ones I have been reaching for all the time at the moment! If you love skinny jeans and you love 7 For All Mankind then I would absolutely recommend this pair to you, you will love them! If you haven’t tried the brand yet then I think these would be the perfect jeans to venture into the 7 For All Mankind world with! I try to keep my reviews as honest as possible to keep them all fair and this is honestly how I feel about these. They have quickly become my new favourites! Buy these jeans online at 7 For All Mankind for $189.

Denim Review: Siwy Alexa cut off shorts in Love Song
This weeks review is on a pair of the new Siwy Alexa cut off shorts in Love Song. I got sent these to review by Siwy and I am so glad I did! I wouldn’t usually pick a pair of shorts this bold or with this kind of print but that’s one thing I love about reviewing. I get to try out a lot of denim that I wouldn’t necessarily pick as my first choice.
I wanted to start by saying that I absolutely love these denim shorts! I love everything about them! The woolen patches I didn’t think I would like that much, but they have actually turned out to be my favourite thing about the shorts. They add so much life and fun to the look and I think it makes them very unique. The zipper up the side is functional too and opens right up to the top. I think this really makes the shorts special too, only one side has the zipper so that’s definitely different!
As for the fit, I would actually have to say with 100% honesty that Siwy shorts are my favourite denim shorts. I’ve tried a lot of denim shorts but the thing that draws me towards Siwy is how well they fit me and how different each pair is. Siwy as a brand is really adventurous and it suits my personality really well. I’m not so much a fan of the padded round pockets on the full length jeans but on shorts they are perfect and really flattering which I love. The edges are always frayed too and Michelle isn’t ever afraid to experiment with her ideas and that’s fantastic.
Aside from the woolen patches on these Alexa shorts, the Love Song wash is actually beautiful. It’s a really nice mid blue with lighter areas in places and it’s very pretty. I think the best colour for denim shorts is always a mid to light blue wash, it just suits the Summer season more. The fact that the woolen patches are brown and cream as well, really makes these shorts easy to pair with a lot of my clothes. I love the Autumn tones such as browns and creams and since these shorts are really bold on their own, you can keep the rest of the outfit simple and still look dressed up.
I can say that these do run true to size, I took a size 27 in them which is my normal Siwy size and they fit perfectly, so definitely take your regular Siwy size. The denim is also quite sturdy and strong but soft at the same time. It’s got the right combination of all aspects which makes it wonderful. If you have never tried any Siwy shorts before then I would definitely recommend you do. You will understand why so many celebs choose to wear them and why they are so popular! In fact I can’t wait to spot a celebrity in these exact shorts, I think they are going to be popular along with the leather patch ones! Buy these shorts online at Shopbop.com.

Denim Review: J Brand Capri in Pale Rose
This weeks review is on a pair of jeans I got sent as a gift from J Brand, the J Brand Capri in Pale Rose, which I decided to review anyway because I love their coloured denim.
These jeans are made from Japanese Twill, much like their Houlihan and Agnes pants, but they are a lot thinner and lighter in weight. They are super stretchy and really clingy as you can tell from the photos, they are actually a bit too tight on me. I picked a size 27 which I normally am in the Houlihan and Agnes but these run a lot tighter than those so I would definitely recommend going with your bigger size.
These are a little bit of an awkward length on me when they are full length, I don’t have the longest of legs as you know, so if I don’t cuff them, where they hit at my calves makes my legs look quite a bit shorter so I decided that giving them a small cuff or roll was the best option. I actually think they look loads better like that anyway!
The Pale Rose wash is much like a salmon colour actually, it’s a pale pink with dusty orangey undertones to it so it is more of a salmon colour. It’s definitely the perfect shade of pink if you want something subtle though, it’s a beautiful lighter shade which matches with a lot of things. I decided to go down the route of pale colours like creams and another pale shade of pink for this outfit because I love girly colours and these are a great choice for that.
These Capri’s obviously have the classic J Brand fit when it comes to pockets, the lower rise and the super skinniness all the way down. That’s one thing I love about J Brand, they do make some great skinny jeans! I think these jeans would be really good for you if you want to jump on board the coloured denim trend but don’t want to go too bright. These are definitely not too in your face and I think they are subtle enough for everyday wear as well as comfortable enough. I just think I need a size up for a more comfortable fit. I actually find getting the right size in jeans one of the hardest things! I vary anywhere between a 26 and 28 and each jean is different because of the fabric, the washing, the process they go through etc, it’s so hard to get consistency. Buy these in size 31 at Saks and buy these in size 32 at Bloomingdales.
