Denim Review: Domino Denim Jacket
After seeing this Domino denim jacket on Jessica Alba a while back, I fell in love with it! I got it last month and it’s my favourite denim jacket that I own! It’s different to the normal blue washes as it’s a washed out black. It’s definitely a moto inspired garment because of the zippers it has on the front of the jacket. I also really love the cropped sleeves, it definitely gives it a more casual feel rather than a smarter look.
I am definitely very impressed with the fit of this jacket too. Normally when I try a denim jacket it’s a little big in the shoulders or the waist area doesn’t fit correctly etc, there is always something but with this jacket it actually fits perfectly everywhere. The shoulders are cut very nicely, the back is really flattering as it nips in at the waist and the sleeves are cropped in the right place to make them look flattering. I also really love the asymmetrical zip up the front of the jacket, that’s a really great touch.
I know there have been a few jackets that look very similar to this one from other brands, I haven’t tried those other jackets but I am very happy with this Domino one. I love it!
I hadn’t really heard of the brand Domino Denim before seeing this jacket actually, I had to look into it and find out more about brand. They have some really nice styles. I also have a few pairs of their jeans and skinny pants and I think they are really pretty. I’m definitely excited to see what is in store for the brand in the coming seasons.
Overall Opinion
I really love this Domino denim jacket because of how well it’s cut, it’s very flattering and it’s very on trend with the moto inspiration. The washed out black is a nice touch as it’s different to the normal blue. I really like the casualness of this jacket and how you can also dress it up with a floral dress and heels. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a moto denim jacket like this.

Denim Review: J Brand Houlihan Skinny Ankle Zip Cargo Pants in Vintage Olive wash
I never expected to fall completely in love with these J Brand Houlihan Cargo Pants in Vintage Olive! I just got them last week and I have worn them lots already. I had never been a fan of cargo pants since I didn’t really class them as feminine but after seeing these pants on lots of celebs it really changed my mind. I haven’t seen them look bad on anyone yet and so many celebrities are a fan of them! They have really taken the fashion world by storm.
These Houlihan cargo pants are made of Japanese Twill so they are super soft! I had no idea they would be so stretchy and soft against the skin though, I assumed they would be quite rigid and more stiff since they were a cargo pant but I was completely wrong! They are the most comfiest pants I have ever tried and they are extremely stretchy, I love that about them. The fit is also perfect, it’s so feminine and pretty, they are really slim down the legs and even though they only have flaps for the back pockets they are suprisingly flattering on the butt.
I love the way they have long ankle zips just like a skinny jean, it’s nice they still keep that element as it’s unusual on a cargo pant. The leg pocket placement is also perfect, I love the positioning of them, they are just in the right place to keep your legs looking slim. they also have moto style stitching on the knees as you can see and I think that makes them look really good. The colour as well is so pretty, it’s like a dusty khaki green and it matches almost everything. These pants come in 5 other colours as well as this Vintage Olive shade. I really want to buy them in grey and black! I can see myself living in these Houlihan pants for a while. I find they beat my motto of not being feminine because they are super skinny and they look really really good with heels.
So I’m really loving J Brand’s take on the cargo pants and I honestly can’t wait to try more! The cargo pants seem to be a huge trend right now and I really like it! These are just too beautiful to pass up and if you don’t think they will be very flattering or comfy then you are very mistaken, they are gorgeous!
Overall Opinion
I absolutely, 100%, recommend these J Brand Houlihan Cargo Pants! They are the most softest pants I have ever tried and they are so comfy because of how stretchy they are. They are also incredibly flattering and feminine if you pair them with heels or wedges and a pretty top. You definitely wont be disappointed buying these! Buy these cargo pants at Boutique to You.

Denim Review: Paige Premium Verdugo Denim Leggings in June Lake
This week has been all about my Paige Premium Verdugo Jeggings in June Lake. I tend to go through phases when it comes to denim, I wear one pair for a while, most likely because they are new and I love them, then I will change to something else. Right now I am absolutely loving my June Lake jeggings! It’s quite possible that they have taken the place of my Rowena’s… The Verdugo cut is beautiful, it’s just like the Skyline jean but so much softer and stretchier! It has a 360 degree stretch to it which makes them really easy to move in, they are like wearing thicker cotton leggings but they still keep you warm and flatter your shape like regular Paige jeans.
They have the perfect rise, it covers everything and it keeps you held in in all of the right places. They are super skinny which is the main thing I look for in skinny jeans and denim leggings, they have to be slim fitting all the way down otherwise they don’t look right. The wash is beautiful too! I was looking through Paige’s collection of leggings and she has so many to choose from! June Lake really caught my eye though. It’s a very pretty blue that has a depth to it and subtle fading on the thighs, it’s definitely a perfect wash for a jegging.
I’m beginning to wish that I sized down from my normal Paige size and took a 27 instead of a 28. They have stretched out quite a lot, as do most jeans you buy, but these ones have stretched a little bit more than other Paige jeans so they are getting a bit loose. They still fit great but the more I wear them the more they seem to loosen up. They are definitely not baggy but I do prefer them tighter so I would say, if you plan on buying a pair, you could take a size down and wait for them to stretch a bit. It all depends on how you like your jeans to fit.
I really love the simplicity of these Verdugo denim leggings. You can dress them up just as easy as you can dress them down. The wash matches everything I own pretty much and they are extremely comfortable. I find myself reaching for them when I run errands or just go out for a little while because I know I will have comfort the entire time I am out. They are also incredibly flattering. If you are a fan of Paige denim already then you will know how great her jeans fit! I want to get so many more! I have my eye on the Stratus wash as well as the Cascade wash. I was originally going to get Stratus instead of June Lake but I am glad I opted for June Lake!
Overall Opinion
I know I do say a lot that I love each of the denim leggings that I have reviewed but I can’t help it because I really honestly love them! I definitely recommend these Paige Premium Verdugo Jeggings in any wash as they are so comfortable and so flattering! They are in my top 2 for favourite denim leggings! June Lake is one of the prettiest washes because of how deep and dusty the blue is and how easy it is to dress them up or down. Buy these jeans at Paige Premium for $158.

Denim Review: 7 For All Mankind Gummy Gwenevere Denim Leggings In Indigo
This weeks review is on the 7 For All Mankind Gummy Gwenevere leggings in Indigo. I am absolutely in love! These are my favourite jeans from the brand and I have them in grey as well. I can’t get enough of them! I wear them as often as I can!
The denim is really amazing. It’s like nothing I have ever felt before, it’s a really stretchy, really soft and smooth fabric. It’s like denim spandex but so much softer and gentle on the skin which I love as I am irritated by some fabrics. The fit is perfect, it’s their classic Gwenevere cut which is a super skinny ankle peg jean with a low rise. It’s my favourite cut from 7 For All Mankind as it fits me the best. The pocket placement is wonderful as well. They are in the right place on the butt and they are very flattering. I also really like the colour! It’s a lot more blue than most denim and that’s what makes them stand out.
I took a size 27 and I am normally a 27/28 in 7 For All Mankind jeans. Since they are super stretchy you can easily get away with sizing down if you want to or staying true to size if you like them a touch looser. The comfort level of these is really astonishing, I could literally work out in them all day if I wanted to, they are like the denim version of sweat pants. They are definitely one of my favourite denim leggings out there. I love the way they fit like second skin.
I found out this information from 7 For All Mankind about their Gummy denim and wanted to share it with you.
To create its Second Skin collection, 7 For All Mankind worked with the best mills on the planet to develop exclusive fabrics – the result of years of research and trial. The mill experimented with everything from the type of yarn used to the rate of elastic weft until it created the world’s best stretch fabrication. The resulting fabric – our exclusive Gummy Denim – was built to have elasticity in the weft direction. It is produced with elastomer yarns to avoid the fitting losses that affect skinny jeans from other sources. Because the weft stretch is so sensitive and fragile, the finishing process had to be modified; the innovative finishing process that resulted is highly confidential.
Exclusive fabrics like Gummy Denim, featuring up to 30% stretch (instead of the 10-15% stretch historically available in the market), are offered in an array of washes ranging from black to grey to classic indigo. These fabrics combine performance – super-stretch comfort and an extremely soft feel – with the visual characteristics and authentic construction of traditional twill denim. A true hybrid between jean and legging, Gummy Denim styles offer a feminine, flattering fit and extreme comfort – all with the sophisticated, sexy style for which 7 For All Mankind is known.
It’s definitely worked! I want more and more of their Gummy leggings! When you buy a pair you will know exactly what I mean about how comfy they are and stretchy as well as being one of the most flattering jeans.
Overall Opinion
I am in LOVE with these Gummy leggings so much! I wear them all the time and they are just so comfy and so flattering, they are perfect! They are one of the most versatile leggings out there, you can dress them up with heels or down with flats and they still look as gorgeous! I definitely recommend you to buy a pair, you will know exactly what I am talking about and just how wonderful they are! Buy these jeans at Shopbop for $170.

Denim Review: Nudie Slim Jim in Blue Stone Organic
This weeks review is one for the guys! No it’s not me modeling the jeans haha, it’s a guest blog.
So this week I am reviewing Nudie Slim Jim jeans in Blue Stone Organic. They are a medium blue wash with large fading down the front of the thighs to the knees. They are quite a simple looking wash but I think the colour will definitely be nice for Summer. I have owned a few pairs of Nudie jeans in various cuts and these are my 4th pair of Slim Jim’s. If I had to put them in order, I would rate these as my 2nd favourite, only to be beaten by their Indigo On Black wash.
They are a slim, straight cut with a low rise. The denim is fairly soft and quite stretchy due to the 2% stretch the fabric contains. However, compared to the other Slim Jim’s I have tried over the years, these ones are a lot tighter all over. They are going to need a bit of breaking in! The only issue I do have with these Nudie jeans is they have a zip fly instead of buttons, I’d much rather have the latter, but this is more of a personal preference.
Overall opinion
I like these jeans a lot because of the wash and because they have the Slim Jim cut which is my favourite cut from Nudie. They are currently my new most worn pair, the indigo on black I mentioned are having a bit of a break! The wash is a lovely blue and after a bit of breaking in will be a lot more comfortable. I recommend them as a great Summer jean. Buy these jeans here at Cultizm. They are a great store for Nudie jeans as the Nudie website is sold out!

Denim Review: Rock & Republic Harlan in Hacker Blue
My second review this week is on the Rock & Republic Harlan moto jeans in Hacker Blue. I got these last week from Rock & Republic after seeing them on the website and falling in love! They are so unique and very different to the other moto jeans on the market. They have silver foil specks all over them which adds to that punky/rockish look of the jeans, I love that! The pockets are completely plain (as they should be when the jean is this detailed) apart from zippers on the top of them. They have that classic Rock & Republic fit as well, I find them really flattering on the butt and very well fitting down the legs.
I thought maybe the moto jeans would feel very hard and stiff around the knee but this is not true with these jeans, they are very comfy and they feel like you are wearing just a normal pair of jeans. My only issue with these is they are a very rough denim, I think that’s because of the foil on them, it makes the denim quite hard and not very soft. I’m normally a big fan of soft denim, I prefer the comfort of it. Also I would prefer if they came in different leg lengths as the standard 35″ inseam is a huge hassle to most of us haha but I know that’s how R&R make their jeans. I have to tuck the rest of the leg length underneath until I can hem them but I hate hemming on jeans that are so well detailed because you lose a lot of the prettiness.
These jeans really are the best moto jeans I have ever tried though, I honestly love them. The way they fit is really nice and the pockets are the perfect size and shape, the detailing with the foil is really pretty, it’s subtle in some lights but in others it really stands out. The wash underneath the foil flecks is also a very beautiful blue, it fades from light to darker all around the jeans. They run true to size for me as well, I took a 27 and I am a 27 in R&R. Even though the price tag is pretty high at $385 they are definitely worth the buy if you love the moto jeans trend and love Rock & Republic jeans or the brand itself.
Overall Opinion
I definitely recommend these jeans to those of you loving this trend! They are gorgeous! Although the denim is rough they are very flattering and slimming down the legs unlike most moto jeans that make your legs look short and chunky. The silver foil splatters make the jeans really unique and pretty. I think they are great jeans from the brand! Buy these jeans here at Rock & Republic.
